Double doors lead through to the bedroom, which has a large double bed with ornate headboard, and two bedside tables with reading lamps. A lovely French window faces south onto the courtyard and has an inviting ledge to sit on and relax.
Have a romantic evening in, or soak those tired limbs, in the 'piece de la resistance' of this room - the luxurious corner bath.
The bathroom is open plan to the bedroom. The deep corner bath has old style brass taps and a brass shower fitting. There is a sink and storage unit with towel holder, and a small window with an angelic artifact.
The WC, with washing machine, is separate to the bath facilities and is located just off the living area.
The entrance into this apartment is through a large, traditional wooden door, in keeping with the history of the building. When you walk into the apartment there are five steps which take you up into the living area.
You will be taken in by the charm of this apartment with its vaulted ceilings and south-facing French windows. Thick walls, windows with louvre shutters and powerful ceiling fans make the apartment comfortable in the summer heat.
The sunny living area, with stone-effect tiling on the floor, consists of a two seater sofa, TV with DVD included, and a corner decorative fireplace. A round wrought iron dining table with four matching chairs provides the perfect place for enjoying meals in.
The kitchen is open plan to the living area and has a ceramic four-ring hob, combination microwave/oven, dishwasher, fridge, and all utensils for trying your hand at some French cuisine with the fresh market produce on your doorstep.
The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
The Côte d’Azur lies between the mountains peaks of the Alps and the shimmering turquoise Mediterranean. It has been the playground of Europe since the 19th century when it became a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous. It remains to this day, one of the most sought after destinations in France and is ideal for family and group holidays as well as romantic city breaks.
Agreeably named, Nice is the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes. It is a city that stays alive and active all year round. There is plenty to see and do and something to suit all tastes.
With approximately 300 days of sunshine, it is renowned for its long hot summers and cooling sea breezes which help to maintain a pleasant temperature.
Beautifully situated, between Cannes and Menton, Nice offers easy access by train or bus allowing you to explore many other interesting towns along this famous coastline. Day trips to Monaco, Italy and some of the surrounding hilltop Provençal villages are all possible. A day trip to the ski slopes of Auron and Isola 2000 during the winter months is also feasible.
The Cours Saleya fresh fruit and flower market (Tuesday to Sunday) and fascinating antique market (Monday) are right on your doorstep. The beach and Promenade are just 30 seconds away, and you're only a minute's walk from the unique shops, artists' galleries and restaurants of the winding Old Town.
The Port is less than a five minute walk away, round Rabau Capeu with its incredible views, and the Shopping District of Jean Médecin can be reached within a ten minute stroll. It takes 20 minutes on foot to get to the main Nice Ville train station and from here Cannes, Antibes and Monaco are all easily accessible.

"Lovely gem tucked in the heart of the Old Town"
A lovely lovely one bedroom apartment in the Old Town with the Cours Saleya Market at your doorstep. How wonderful it was to grab the shopping bag and wander around the various stalls deciding what to have for meals each day!!!! We were delighted with the apartment --- very comfortable -- and very soothing after a busy day of walking and sampling pastries.
Great boulangeries and patisseries just around the corner ---- as well as an amazing choice of restaurants.
We chose this particular apt. on the recommendation of our son and girlfriend who had previously stayed in Le Monastere and, like them, we were not disappointed....
Liane, the Riviera Pebbles rep, met us on the day we arrived and walked us through the apt. explaining how the various appliances worked and was readily available during our stay if we had any questions etc.
We definitely recommend both the apt and Riviera Pebbles to anyone thinking of spending time in Nice.
