Cote d'Azur is a favourite destination for sun lovers - The lively bustle of the coast contrasts with the Mediterranean charm of inland Provence with its hill villages, (among the many, St Tropez, one of the best known resorts of Europe) its picturesque gorges, its valleys carpeted with olive groves and the majesty of the mountain range north of Nice - such a variety of scenery created by a nature which has brought the sea and the mountains into close proximity.
Nice is also a close gate to the Italian Riviera where you can take a day trip and visit the Vintimiglia market or the alpine villages. Monaco is only 15 mn away. St Paul de Vence and its famous galleries, 1/2 hr away.
