Staying here feels much more like living in a house than an apartment, perfect for resting and relaxing whilst enjoying all the advantages of downtown living less than 5 minutes walk from the seafront. AND YOU CAN SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE! We will donate 20 euros for every week booked in 2012 to the charity Krousar Thmey, a grassroots organisation in Cambodia supporting children in many ways, including access to free education and schools for deaf and blind children, both sorely needed in this beautiful but terribly poor country.

The bright open-plan living room with French doors opens on to a sunny balcony overlooking trees and plants, while the kitchen leads to a spacious 15m2 terrace ideal for al fresco dining or a lazy afternoon in the hammock. Guests are immediately struck by how peaceful this location is.

The Port area is Nice’s unsung treasure and we have lots to recommend for your stay in our favourite neighbourhood: dozens of excellent restaurants; swimming and snorkelling at Coco Beach; coastal footpath to idyllic Villefranche-sur-Mer; scuba diving; the Italian architecture and outdoor cafés of Place Garibaldi, the entrance to Old Nice within 10 minutes walk…

The best of Nice is on your doorstep, without the crowds and noisy traffic!

Further details

Cool in summer:

This house was built in the 1900s using traditional Mediterranean techniques to keep it cool in the summer: external louvered wooden shutters can be partially or fully closed to keep out sun and heat, and the walls are insulated using local materials. With windows and French doors on the east, south and west sides of the apartment, you can always maintain a flow of air through the apartment to keep it cool. In addition, all bedroom windows are double glazed, and glass wool insulation in the attic keeps heat out in summer.

The 15m2 terrace is partially covered by the eaves of the house and enjoys a pleasant breeze, making it an ideal living space for the summer months.

"Everything we needed and more!"

The old town with wonderful markets, restaurants and tourist shops is a 20min stroll away and great fun but we liked to get back to the quiet of the apartment with its genuine feel of a neighbourhood with friendly shops and bars/restos overlooking the Port with sunset views over the chateau hill. The apartment was lovely; it is a real home - and it had everything we needed. We were able to really relax. Best of all it has 2 quiet terraces and we could choose shade or sun.
We would love to go back again.

"Quiet apartment close to port"

An absolute gem of an apartment in a quiet location tucked away behind a boulevard close to the port. The apartment was very well organised as was the meet & greet together with the handover at the end of our stay. There was plenty of information available in the apartment regarding recommended local restaurants, buses etc. This, we found extremely useful as this was our first visit to Nice.
It is only a short walk to the old town which we loved.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Nereides and will definitely visit again.

"A CONVENIENT CENTRE FOR EVERYTHING"

We had a lovely week in the apartment. We travelled on the local buses but also enjoyed the leisurely walk to the old town where you could choose your 'theme',fast food or pleasent food with tv sports coverage or wonderful cuisine in the small restaurants. The choice of restaurants in the port area by the apartment was excellent although some were closed for refurbs etc.A very pleasent holiday in a homely apartment.

"Wonderfull apartment in a quiet central location."

Beautiful apartment in a quiet location yet only 2 minutes from the port and a short walk to the Old Town. Good transport links so no car required. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing break. Close enough to all amenities to walk to local shops and restaurants. Fantastic holiday !

"great location, lovely terraces"

everything you need is there
if I could make one suggestion, a fan in each bedroom would make a nice addition and give relief during the summer heat

Just to point out, there is already a ceiling fan in each bedroom. For this guest, who stayed during the heatwave, that was clearly not enough. Will provide additional fans for next summer! Thanks for the feedback.

"An oasis in Nice Port"

this lovely appartment in Nice Port is a total scoop.
It is spacious with high ceilings ,yet with a cosy and intimate feel.
You have the feeling of beeing in a house, as you are surrounded by green trees and the
balcony and terrace offer total privacy
It is located very central for shopping and transport and
it is only a 10 minute walk from the wonderful turqouise sea and the promenade Anglais and the old Nice town.
Just around the corner is the port with lots of really good restaurants and if you prefer to cook yourself the kitchen in the appartment is very well equipped.
We truly enjoyed our 2 weeks stay here.
evevrybody in our famuliy with ages ranging from 14 to 54 felt at home here and the service from the owners and the landlady was perfect.
I can highly recommend this place.
