The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Cote d'Azur enjoys a pleasant all year round climate with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year.
The bright sunlight, vivid colours and blue sky and sea that attracted artists such as Picasso and Matisse are as remarkable as ever.
Nice is the capital of the Riviera and the fifth largest city in France. It really is a city with something for everyone. Its mixture of influences (Greek, Roman, English, Russian and American) has perhaps led to its modern day cosmopolitan feel but, although there is a strong Italian influence, particularly in the food and architecture, Nice is still unmistakably French.
The extensive rail network has frequent services to all the main coastal resorts including Mandelieu-La Napoule, Grasse, Cannes, Juan les Pins, Antibes, Villefranche sur Mer, Monaco, Menton and Ventimille in Italy. Other main line services mean that cities including Marseilles, Dijon and Milan are also within reach
The Port is within walking distance where a number of trips can be booked including the ferry to Corsica.
The Nice / Central Nice area
Carre d'Or (Golden Square) is one of the most prestigious districts of Nice, distinguished by many fine examples of Belle Epoque architecture. Although central, the area is relatively quiet but provides easy access to the town centre and the Old Town. The pedestrianised Rue de France is also nearby with its many shops, bars and restaurants.
Local Activities include cycling, diving, fishing, roller blading, sailing, swimming, tennis, walking, water skiing, Museums, Old Town, art galleries, markets, cafes, restaurants.

This was our third stay at Villa Belle Epoque and we weren't disappointed.
It's a great apartment; clean and tidy with all mod cons and a comfortable bed.
Nice beach is a short walk away, although it's mostly pebbles (if you want sand then its a quick train-ride down the coast). The villa is near an indoor market and some decent local shops (we'd recommend the Multari bakery on Gambetta for sandwiches and cakes).
The Old Town is well worth a visit for one evening. We also visited both Monaco and Cannes on the train. Just remember to bring your passport if you want to get into the Casino.

After holidaying as a couple for forty years we don't really expect to get excited anymore about the places we stay. How wrong we were with regard to the Villa Belle Epoque.
The quality and location of the apartment are excellent, and the owners have made a particular point of ensuring that all requirements are comprehensively met. We were particularly pleased by its proximity to the Old Town - one of the finest we have encountered. The apartment is also just 5 minutes walk from the Promenade des Anglais as well as being within easy reach of buses, trains and supermarkets. We enjoyed it so much we couldn't wait to get home .........................- in order to book a return visit.

The Villa Epoque is ideally situated for the beach, town, restaurants and bus route to the airport, this will be our third visit. We have travelled throughout the world usually preferring to visit different countries but we have been bitten by the Nice bug and recently have been drawn back each year.
We have stayed in two different apartments in the building both of which were smart, clean and welcoming thanks to Jane and David
