The property 42 sqm has an olde-worldy ambiance and is furnished in keeping with a vintage property. Smart but cottagy, cosy but not too small, all living areas opening up onto terrace providing chairs and table for al fresco dining. Buses to the old town and airport run on main road just at the bottom of the little lane up to the property and there are supermarkets and cafés within a few minutes’ walk. Two fine art museums with parks are in immediate vicinity as is a public pool.

South facing sunny garden with terrace. Barbeque, large umbrella and table and chairs for those warm balmy evenings over a bottle of wine....or two!
Although the garden is private and fairly secluded, we would ask that any guests are aware that excessive noise late at night will not be acceptable to any adjoining neighbours. French law is fairly strict about this so we hope you will help us uphold it. Smoking is allowed in the garden only - never indoors as other guests may be allergic to cigarette smoke.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
This property is just a few minutes walk to the beach and Promenade des Anglais. There are water sports available and many beach restaurants. Perfect for topping up your tan and enjoying the local fare. Alternatively just take your book and sit on one of the many benches in the sun and 'people watch' the glamour of the Côte d'Azur.
The Nice / Carre d'Or area
Positioned just on the perimeter of the Central Carre D'or of Nice, this apartment is within walking distance from all shops, cafès, banks and restaurants. There is a large supermarket in the next road. Secluded from the hustle and bustle of city life, this offers a contrast of two styles of living for the price of one! It is 2 minutes from the beach and very easy to hop on a bus or a pleasant walk along the promenade to the old town and flower market. Day trips to Cannes, Antibes and Monaco etc are easy by train or bus, as is the border of Italy.
The old town with its cobbled streets and varied restaurants, Place Massena, the tramway and the main shopping centre are within 30 minutes walk. The Port Leads to beautiful rocky coastal walks towards Ville Franche. Airport is 15 minutes on the bus and the bus stop is right outside or alternatively on the promenade. Beautiful views from the hills and villages around and boat trips along the coast or out to Corsica/Sardinia during high season.

I stayed here for a month, and it was perfect for me. I wanted something nice and quiet but close to everything. This apartment was all of those. The apartment is comfortable and tastefully decorated. I love the owner's artwork and I felt very much at home here. It is a converted chapel so it has lots of character, including nice high ceilings, lots of windows that open out to let in the breeze and a cute café table. It feels very French! The apartment is a decent size, not huge, and is comfortable for 2 people. The kitchen has the basics you will need, including a full size refrigerator. There is a flat-screen TV with a few cable channels and a small table in the living room for eating. Part of what I liked about living here is that you're in a building with local residents, so they're considerate and you don't have people partying around you. There's also a fairly private backyard or garden so you can sit outside and have your coffee or eat dinner. Even though you're in the city, when you're in the garden, you feel as though you're in the country. The location is great – it's close enough to everything but not in the middle of the noisy touristy areas. I originally considered staying in Old Town, but once I got to Nice, I am really glad I chose this location because you get the best of both worlds – close to everything but a calm place to come home to. The beach, or Promenade, is 2 blocks away. You can take a bus into town, but I always preferred to walk, as you pass through the pedestrian zone with all the shops and restaurants, until you get to Place Massena. In all, it's about a half-hour walk to Old Town, which kept me in shape! You can get to restaurants and shops much quicker than that, though. And you can walk a few blocks in any direction and find grocery stores, discount stores, cafes, etc. - so if you don't want to be a tourist, you can also get more of a local feel of living here. I enjoyed staying here and am definitely recommending this apartment to friends who are going to Nice. |
