A large open plan studio with living and dining room with sofa and full size bed, that goes against the wall for more walking space during the day. Very comfortable and easy to manage. Full size kitchen with all the utensils for preparing meals and a fabulous balcony for dining out and enjoying watching the world go by on the famous Promenade des Anglais beach front boulevard. The bathroom has a large, walk in shower stall.
You have two large supermarkets immediately to the left and right of the building as well as many smaller shops for bread, meat, pastries, coffee. There are also local wine bars and restaurants, all within easy walking distance of the apartment. The local bus stops right outside the building and parking is available on the street.

You have seven kilometers of beach right at your doorstep! There are public and private beaches where you can rent chaise lounge, umbrellas, snorkelling equipment or even go paragliding should you so desire! Nice has a wealth of things to do and see, fabulous museums, art galleries, and architecturally it is a must see - a beautiful blend of its Italian heritage and French inhabitants have made this city a cultural delight. There is a great public transportation service, that whisks you away for the day to Monte Carlo, Antibes, Cannes, or even up to the Italian border town of San Remo for its wonderful all day long outdoor market, easily accessible by train, a ten minute bus ride away from your apartment building. The apartment is on the fourth floor, with spectacular sea views, fully air conditioned and double glazed, with an elevator. The building is extremely well maintained and has a live in Concierge as well as my local Manager who will meet and greet you and settle you in to your apartment and provide you with your keys.
The only addition to the rental price is the use and cleaning of the sheets, towels and bed linens. 30 pounds per couple, 40 pounds for four people.
The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
Nice has one of the best all year round climates - sunny and warm even in November and February. The nights will cool off after sunset but you can enjoy spectacular sunshine and warmth even in the winter months, makes a wonderful break from the dreary UK weather in November, December, January and February - prices are low, tourists less plentiful and you will have the city to yourself to explore. Great outdoor markets for food, flowers, and local produce as well as great antiques, all on the famous Cours des Saleys open air market. Wonderful outdoor dining even in the winter months at lunchtime where the sun is always plentiful. Nice has a great history and many important and interesting places to visit, art gallerties, museums, and concerts are all within walking distance. Not to be missed - wonderful shopping in the Old Town and the fashionable districts of downtown Nice, with great fashion at reasonable prices.
There is simply too much to list - the best way is to log on to the Nice website before you leave town to find out exactly what is available for the time you are planning to visit, or when you arrive drop into the main tourist office on the Promenade des Anglais and get a calendar of events of things that are happening while you are there, to be sure you don't miss out on anything! Otherwise, strolling the streets, sitting in an outdoor cafe watching the world go by, lying on the beach with a good book and good glass or local Provencal rose wine in your hand, are things that will give you memories you will not forget of this beautiful part of the world. Walking along the Promenade des Anglais at sunset is a spectacular sight, as is climbing the steps or taking the elevator to the public gardens and castle at the top of the Promenade, to see spectacular scenery and whole of the Baie des Anges, especially lit up at night, from this scenic viewpoint. The Cours des Saleys outdoor market as well as dining in Old Town at night, are also things to include on your itinerary and if you can, take a drive or train ride up the coast towards the Italian border, the train hugs the coast and the scenery is spectacular.

"Small, Not Well Located"
I spent 5 days in Nice with my sister and my daughter and rented this apartment for our stay. This was the worst of the three apartments we rented during our France trip. The only good thing about it … More

"Great View + Beach + Velo Blue bike to downtown."
Great view with electric shutters to block night and morning light if desired.
Not near the city center, but also not crowded with tourists. It is a long walk or a short bus to the town center...but we had a great time doing the trip in 15 to 20 minutes on Velo Bleu bikes (Station right out front) The bike path along the sea side avenue is separated from car traffic.... very easy and safe.
The building is quiet, and the apartment is quiet with the sliding doors closed. and OK with them open.
Kitchen cutting boards are both glass type, knife sharpening steel is available. Small but adequate refrigerator.
Turning off bathroom lights turns off the washing machine...just have to be aware... Took a while to figure out how to get the washing machine going... (Instructions for all equipment would be helpful)
Very comfortable bed, murphy style...we left it down all the time. Pillows so so.
Elevator lift was "out of service" a couple of times... easy stairs.
Owner sent very helpful information about Nice.
Would stay here again.

"A great place to stay in the French Riviera"
We spend a week in this apartment every summer since a few years and we really enjoy it. location is great for us, view is very nice, and we never find the Nice beaches too crowded as they are in Italy during August. We will go back again this summer
thank you for taking the time to review your stay in Nice - so pleased to hear you enjoy both the city itself and all it has to offer as well as its many and varied options for beaches both in Nice itself and the outlying towns a close drive or bicycle ride away! Hope to see you back on another stay on the French Riviera!

"A nice size Studio that gives value for money and is close to the beach"
This is a nice size studio that is well maintained in a nice building. Has nice views of the sea. The beach is across the road to the left. Bus stops and off street car parking are very close.
It is also very close to two supermarkets.
I have rented this studio last year and in 2009
thank you for taking the time to let me know about your experience at Avenue Californie - much appreciated and we hope to see you back on another trip to either the south of France or Tuscany!
