About the home

Nice is a cosmopolitan city,with easy transport links to the close by attractions of Cannes, Monaco and Monte Carlo. Every designer shop you can think of is within easy walking distance, as are some of the best restaurants in the world. There are also some very inexpensive places to eat in the lanes of the old town. The world famous Negresco Hotel, with it's pink domes, is well worth a visit and only two blocks away.

The airport is only a five minute bus ride from the city. During the winter you can also travel by bus from the train station to the alps to ski. There are also museums, galleries, theaters, opera and of course the beach. Scuba diving is available from the port. Park Pheonix is an attraction which children love and the entrance fee is very little, the aquarium in Monaco is worth a visit. A short train ride and you can be in Monaco, Cannes or you could be going to the races in Antibes.

The apartment is bright and modern, There are two comfortable sofa beds, a single and a double. The bathroom is tiled and large, with a wardrobe. A launderette is very close by.

The terrace has a table and four chairs, it is partly glass bricks which run over a tunnel, in the evenings it is pleasanlty lit from the tunnel below making it a very romantic spot.

Most of the flats in the block are not holiday lets so you will be able to meet the local people and they always recommend new places to explore. There will be no time to get bored.

Conditions

There is no cot, you would have to provide sleeping requirements for babies. Bedding and towels are provided.

Nice is a working city full of history, it was previously part of Italy, which gives it a unique blend of Italian and French. The architecture is very varied, look out for the tiny ornate Russian house on the sea front between the apartment and airport.

It is a very practical city with excellent local transport, including a new tram system and rubs shoulders with some of the most exclusive areas in the world, don't be surprised to see the odd famous face.

The Nice / Central Nice area

Nice Old Town is a 5 min walk, small lanes and picturesque squares, filled with restaurants, bars and shops, it also backs on to a market place where you can shop for flowers, spices, vegetables, fish, meat, antiques and paintings depending on which day you visit.

The gardens above the old town are well worth a visit, those who have difficulty with stairs can take the lift from the sea front.

The Port is a wonderful place to go and look at the millionaires yachts, there is also scuba diving from the port and a ferry to Corsica. Behind the restaurants on the port side is the antiques quarter.

Rue de France is also filled with restaurants, shops and runs right past the apartment block.

Nice is a big vibrant city, the further you walk the more you will discover.

Car hire is available from the airport and all over the town.

Bus 98 takes you to and from the airport, Stops on the Promenade des Anglaises virtually opposite Boulevard Gambetta.
