Marrakech Mansion
About the home
You will love Marrakech mansion. Located 1 block from shopping and restaurants, close enough that you can be at the theatre in less than 5 minutes yet off of the main street and quiet.
We have decorated the house with a Moroccan theme because we love the culture and the people of Morocco. The Mansion is one of the great old houses of Niagara on the lake. It is set on a double sized city lot, (108 by 125 feet) the property was completely landscaped in 2008 with new flower beds, new lawn, great outdoor sitting areas and a new driveway with room for 5 cars.

Further details outdoors:
Multiple outdoor areas to enjoy.
A round Moroccan tile table with 8 chairs - a great spot for breakfast on the East side of the house. Near this eating area are several large rhubarb plants. If you like rhubarb, help yourself
Also on the East side 6 Muskoka chairs that are almost always in the sun. The chairs are set in the middle of the lawn on their own patio surrounded by antique roses and fragrant lilies.
The front porch has room for 6 to sit and watch the tourist hired horse and buggies pass. Be prepared to have your photo taken. The house is very popular and often photographed. In 2008 we planted tomatoes in the front flower bed. We plated hundreds of perennials and were worn out by the time we got to this flower bed. So tomatoes were planted for fun. Please eat them! They may be back in 2009.
The West side of the house features and archway that features a pair of gates made in Marrakech and shipped to Canada. Behind the gates is your own private Moroccan garden with a large tile table and 8 chairs. This area is a real sun trap in the afternoon and a great place to enjoy dinner. The Gas BBQ is located on this side of the house.
The grocery store is only a 5 minute walk and they have great steaks so by a few and enjoy them with the wine purchased at any of the many local wineries.

The Ontario region
Niagara Falls is just a 15 minute drive away. The drive takes you through the wine region and past several of the area's 50+ wineries all of which will welcome you in for a tasting.
Like Golf? The closest course is the Historic Niagara golf club, a 2 minute walk from the house and you are at the club house. There are dozens of other championship courses in the area.
Toronto is an hour and 1/2 away via rental car or hired coach.
The weather in Niagara varies from cross country skiing on the golf course in January to shorts pants and short sleeved shirts in summer. Pick your season, they are all a lot of fun in Ontario
The Niagara-on-the-Lake area
The war of 1812 between the British and the USA was fought right on this ground. The town was burnt by retreating Americans in December 1813 (We have forgiven them!) Walk or bike the flat streets and enjoy our history.
The Shaw festival is at the heart of any Niagara on the Lake visit with plays by George Bernard Shaw and contemporaries. Go to the Shaw web site to view a list of plays and buy tickets. Buy your tickets early however as they sell out quickly.
Missing England? Take a tour in a London cab or one one of the double decker buses that will take you through the wine country to Niagara falls.

Guestbook for Marrakech Mansion
Dec 13 2007: We have just arrived home spending a week at Marrakech Mansion, and felt I had to email you to say what a great time we had. Whenever something is booked on line, there is always a risk that it won't turn out to be quite as good as expected, but in this case the reverse was true! We all though that the house was fabulous, with everything we needed to make our stay there as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The Christmas Tree and the few decorations around added to the enjoyment for us, and we certainly hope to stay there again at some time in the future. United Kingdom
August 2007: Time flies, our short stay here was great. Thanks for everything. This house is great, truly a home away from home. Very peaceful very relaxing: It is our first time at Marrakech mansion, but definably not our last. “The Gang of 7”
January 2008: Thanks for sharing your slice of paradise with us. Wonderful time. Enjoyed lots of ice wine at the Ice Wine festival. Dinners at the Angel Inn & “Rest” were fantastic. Both great suggestions. We’ll be back next year for sure. Toronto & Grimsby Ontario
