Shimei House is a private holiday home located in the magnificent Ngong Hills, a 30 minute drive from the Nairobi City Centre, 45 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. With spectacular views of Ngong Hills, this six bedroomed house can accommodate up to fourteen, and is ideal for small parties adn getaways. Our professional staff also caters for all types of small functions such as team buildings, bridal showers, theme parties, etc.
The rooms include three shared, and three self contained luxury rooms. The house has a resident cook with full-time housekeeping and laundry services..
A luxurious and spacious mansion, Shimei House is a unique blend of African and 21st century aesthetics, with its themed bedrooms and design. In addition, the house hosts a revolving selection of fine art from some of Africa’s leading artistes, many of which are available for purchase. Combined with the beautiful and serene, semi-rural environment of Ngong Hills, it is an ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. Being just a ten minute drive to Karen Shopping Centre, twenty minutes to the Nakumatt Junction Shopping Mall, Shimei House is yet not too far for its guests to benefit from all the urban amenities of the capital city.
Shimei House also offers day excursions within the Nairobi area; The National Museum and Snake Park, Ngong Hills hike, The Giraffe Centre, Karen Blixen Museum, Maasai Market, Kazuri Bead making factory tour, Olepolos picnic site, Kitengela Glass making factory, Shalom Hills picnic site. Overnight tours and trips to other destinations, such as The Aberdares and The Maasai Mara, can also be arranged via our partners.

Directions to Shimei House
From Nairobi Central Business District
Get onto Ngong Rd heading towards Karen. At the Karen roundabout, go straight towards Ngong Hills. Go six kilometres and make a left on Hilltop road, which is about 50 metres past Juanco Shopping Centre (Shell Petrol Station on the right). Go one kilometre up Hilltop Rd. Shimei House will be on your right directly opposite the Safaricom booster Antennae. The house has a grey gate with a signboard.
From Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
From Mombasa Rd, go towards Nyayo National Stadium and turn left on Langata Rd heading towards Karen, which about is 20km away. At the Karen roundabout, make a left towards Ngong Hills.
