This was a nice house, no doubt about it. But it was kept to a low standard from many angles. To begin with, it had very bad roof fittings which made sleeping almost impossible during the 23 mph winds we had during our stay. I would have thought that the owner, living thereabouts, would know of the high wind speeds and think of a solution to it. Secondly, the facilities either didn't work or were insufficient. There was nothing in the surrounding area and the owner never even showed up to greet us or to say bye! They had also asked us to leave the rubbish near the "telephone box", which we never found! There was also no wifi/broadband internet available in a very remote area of Wales, where we couldn't even access the internet from our phones due to very bad reception. The positive elements included the fire place and the ping-pong table. The owner must also have known about the weather conditions (high intermittent wind and rain) in late December, which would render the hot tub unusable. Needless to say we couldn't use the hot tub, but did pay for it. All in all, it was highly over priced for what they offered. I believe the price should have been at least £300 cheaper. Response: Dear Guest I am dismayed to read that you felt Bryn Hafod is kept to a low standard, we try hard to keep the house to a high standard so all that come to stay, enjoy their stay, and after reading your review I have to say , we have had Hen parties, stag parties, large groups with young children of which all had a lot more respect for the property than your party, We don't appreciate dirty dishes, dirty cutlery and other items been put back in the cupboard dirty, all I can say is we were glad there wasn't anyone coming in straight after you, as it took us a lot long than usual to get the property back to normal. As for the weather we all know we have had an exceptionally wet year, and known when we book a holiday there is always that risk of bad weather, especially this time of year. We did call up to see you but you were out, so we sent you a text to make sure you had found the property ok and we spoke on the phone later. I know you had an issue with the fridge which I did say we could bring another up for you, but as I heard no more from you I thought all was ok. We do leave our contact telephone number in our welcome pack, just in case there are any problems, and we always try to help. With regards to the internet the property dose not state that it has internet connection. Our prices, they are alone side other holiday homes in the area. As for things to do, we leave suggestion in our welcome pack and lots of leaflets, but also know that a lot of places are closed over the festive season the same as in many areas. Yes we do need to update where to leave rubbish, as the telephone box has recently been removed. I'm sorry you felt this way about your stay, but I just wished you would have contacted us with your concerns, and hope your next vacation suites your requirements better. |
