The Aviemore and the Cairngorms region

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Newtonmore

Situated within the Cairngorms National Park - Britain's largest - and overlooking the bubbling River Spey, Newtonmore has a lot to offer its visitors, no matter what the time of year. As well as the renowned Newtonmore Craft Centre and two excellent, award-winning museums, the town has featured as a backdrop for the popular television series, 'Monarch of the Glen'. To get a better look at this picturesque location, the seven mile 'Wildcat Trail' encircles the town and incorporates the River Spey, lush green woodland, heather scrub and incredible mountain views, as well as lovely views of the town. With golf, fishing, pony trekking, walking, bird-watching, cycling, mountain-biking, climbing and skiing all available locally, this fun filled destination is sure to have something for everyone's taste and budget.
