The Scottish Highlands region

This region has a contrasting landscape of lochs, mountains, forests and coastline and it's therefore no coincidence that it's one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland. Its popularity is easy to understand when you consider the mouth watering attractions within its boundaries; which include the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in the west and the wonderful forests, mountains and rivers which are characteristic of Tayside and Perthshire to the east. The city of Stirling can also be found in this area, with its rich historical significance in Scottish history and connections to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. The beautiful and unique coastlines here, both on the west coast and east coast, are ideal holiday destinations. Stretching in the west from Oban in the north down to Strathclyde and the Ayr coast, and in the east the coast extends from Dundee and Angus south the along the Fife coast to Edinburgh.

Newtonmore

The Cairngorm mountain features some fantastic winter sports facilities as well as a wide range of water sports and standing at over 3000ft it is also a great opportunity to challenge all walking enthusiasts. The funicular railway is a great way to view the expansive mountain range with its amazing views or, if you'd like a more active approach you can always take a guided walk at the summit from April to October. These activities are to name but a few within easy reach of Cruachan, there are countless others! It really is the ideal location for a relaxing stay within the area. Just a short journey up the A9 will bring you through to Aviemore. Here you can find a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants as well numerous activities to suit every taste! Canoeing, mountain biking and kayaking to name but a few are all available close by or there's plenty of local walks at hand waiting to be explored.

"Perfect"

We arrived at the Coach House around 11pm and were pleasently suprised by the warmth, comfort and cleanliness of the cottage. Next morning when we all woke, we did so to the most amazing views ever ! I took my 15yr old Autistic/Asperger son and his friend and usually it takes me son a good few days, if at all, to settle into new surroundings but he was calm and relaxed since we got there and even said "it felt like home". Now THAT doesn't happen very often. We were out all day but it was always a pleasure to return to the cottage. I can honestly say The Coach House was perfect and we would love to return there whenever we can.
