Caravan/Mobile Home | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
If you are looking for a change, away from commercial sites and the rush of normal life, this is it. This modern leisure home is beautifully presented throughout, offering comfort, peace and a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of crowds, yet is just five minutes' walk from the centre of one of the most desirable villages in South Hams. Yealm Retreat enjoys a prime position on a small private site on the outskirts of the village with clear views past the church to Newton Ferrers below and across the estuary to Noss Mayo.
It has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, TV and an en suite bathroom (bath and shower over) and the smaller bedroom has two small single beds (c. 6' x 2'3") which could be pushed together to make a small double. There is a separate family shower room comprising shower, wash basin and toilet. The kitchen is fully fitted with a full sized gas hob and oven, fridge, freezer and microwave.
The raised dining area leads off the kitchen and looks out across the lounge and through the patio door on to the balcony. The lounge seats up to six people comfortably and has a small folding guest bed built into the fitted sofa. There is a TV and DVD recorder. The south facing outside decking offers stunning views south over the valleys.
Yealm Retreat is equipped with gas fired central heating (ideal for the winter visitor) and on-demand hot water boiler. All utilities are plumbed in (no separate gas bottles and drain waste to deal with). This is a real home-from-home. Quilts and bed linen for the two bedrooms supplied, but not towels, tea towels or linen for the bed settee. One note - mobile/internet connectivity is difficult in this area (EE/Orange based are the best).
Yealm Retreat is situated at the top of the village with one of the best sheltered estuary harbours for many a mile. The village has excellent facilities including Post Office, butcher, chemist and general store. There are three good pubs serving great food in Newton and Noss.
This is an ideal base for water sport enthusiasts and walkers, is just a couple of miles from the South West Coast Path and only about 8 miles from Dartmoor National Park. Nearby are beautiful sandy beaches and sheltered coves, with one of the country's top rock pool beaches just across the River Yealm at Wembury. At low tide the Voss, a narrow concrete causeway joining Newton Ferrers with Noss Mayo, is uncovered. During the summer there is a small ferry that links the wider arms of the estuary between Newton Ferrers, Noss Mayo and Wembury.
The historic City of Plymouth, Totnes, Dartmouth, Salcombe and many other delightful places are within easy reach of Yealm Retreat.

Thank you for this review, it is rewarding when our guests appreciate what we have done to make their stay enjoyable.
We have addressed the comment about the master bed, there is now a full set of king-size mattress protectors and sheets. I am investigating the grill issue with manufacturer and intend to correct this design fault.
