The Newry and Mourne region
Nestled in the Newry and Mourne area, famous for its natural history, beauty and culture, this property gives you a central base to explore this beautiful part of Northern Ireland. The Mourne Mountains - This great expanse of unspoilt landscape is again within easy reach of with the lovely village of Hilltown offering a taste of rural life at the foot of the Mournes. Drop in to Lowry's for typical Irish hospitality. Newry is only ten minutes drive away and there is plenty to do with two shopping centre's, multiplex cinema, indoor go-carting, indoor children's play area, nightclubs, pubs and restaurants. Newry Canal offers great angling and fishing trips can also be arranged off the shores of Carlingford Lough only a 30 minutes drive. Carlingford itself is a heritage village with castle ruins, plenty of scenic walks and is a bustling place to visit at the weekends. A visit here is a must. There are wonderful fresh seafood bistros with Carlingford Oysters, a specialty. For children a visit to Lisburn Leisureplex is a great way of spending the day with brilliant water slides. Look out for the washing machine ride!
