Home description

Chocolate box detached Cornish cottage with many original features including open log fire for cosy winter nights supported by E7 heaters in the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms. Beamed ceilings throughout, and all modern appliances including Free Sat viewing. The cottage is situated in picturesque Crantock, a village on the coast with just a short scenic walk to large sandy beach beach, with lifeguard cover June to Sept. Crantock itself has a historic ancient Church, local pub, post office and grocery store. Newquay, with its many attractions and major retail outlets and banking facilities is 5 minutes drive or alternatively there is a tidal coastal walk for the more energetic.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Area well known for spectacular beaches and coastal walks and Crantock itself is well known for its pretty cottages quaint village shops and church dating back some several hundred years. The village also has three pubs one of which is itself several hundred years old.


Newquay / Crantock area

Newquay itself has many attractions including tennis and badminton courts, zoo, waterworld, sports centre, sealife centre and of course fistral beach, with its numerous surf competitions, and for those more energenic of an evening Newquay is well known for its nightlife and many different choices of restaurants. In addition there are numerous attractions all within a short drive or coach (from Newquay) including the well known Eden Project and theme parks aplenty.


How to get there

Fly to Newquay airport. 9 regional airports around the UK now fly in to Newquay. Cheap flights available from Ryanair, South West Air and British Airways amongst others.
Train and Coach station in Newquay. Crantock is within a 10 minute cab drive away or regular bus service operates to and from Newquay.
Drive here - head for the West Country and take the A30 down to Newquay.

Character cottage with low and beamed ceilings but with all the uptodate facilities of home including flat screen 28 inch colour TV with Free Sat viewing and dvd player. Well equipped kitchen, full size fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, oven and hob. Ground floor large family bathroom with corner bath/shower and separate shower cubicle. Please bring your own beach towels. Although there is a well stocked postoffice/general store in the village, Crantock is in the Tesco delivery area and the full size fridge and freezer provide ample room for you to arrange a convenient delivery time to suit yourself and stock up without the need to travel to local supermarkets.

Enclosed and private garden area, paved and decked with brick built B-B-Q. Patio furniture and sunloungers provided. On road parking located close by.

Parking: You may stop to unload at the front of the cottage. Once unloaded go to the unrestricted road for parking which is found by driving on past the cottage by fifty yards and then turning left into Trevowah Road. After another fifty yards turn left into Chapel Close. If you park in Chapel Close or the surrounding roads you can return to the cottage via the public footpath which is at the bottom on the right of the Private cul de sac just off Chapel Close, approx a one minute walk. Head to the bottom of the cul de sac and at the houses turn right onto the footpath, bend round the corner and you are back at the cottage.

Arrival: Go through the side gate to the left of the cottage and round to the back door where there is a Key Safe on the wall. Using the code provided when booking has been fully paid, push down the shutter and roll the numbers to line up the code. Push down the lever and the front of the box will drop forward. Remove the key fob, close the box and spin the numbers. You can use this key safe during your stay to ensure no one is ever locked out.

Departure: Leave the front and back doors locked and the keys in the kitchen please.


Conditions

33% Non refundble deposit required on booking, balance required 8 weeks prior to arrival, all prices quoted are all inclusive for services to the cottage. Starter pack of solid fuel supplied in winter.
House towels provided - bring own beach towels.
Good will security bond taken of £20pp for a family group or £60pp for singles and couples - repaid within 7 days after departure. Full terms and conditions provided on request or on confirmation of booking.
