The cottage is situated in picturesque Crantock, a village on the coast with just a short scenic walk of half a mile through the village and lanes to large sandy beach, with lifeguard cover June to Sept. Alternatively take the car and park on the national trust beach car park. Crantock itself has a historic ancient Church, local pub, post office and grocery store. Newquay, with its many attractions, major retail outlets and banking facilities is 5 minutes drive or alternatively there is a tidal coastal walk for the more energetic.

Character cottage with low and beamed ceilings but with all the up to date facilities of home including flat screen 28 inch colour TV with Free Sat viewing and dvd player. The log fire has recently been replaced by an energy efficient log burner. Brand new in 2011 refurbished kitchen includes under counter fridge and 6ft freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, oven and hob. Also new in 2011 refurbished ground floor large family bathroom with bath and separate shower room with WC. Enclosed rear garden includes a BBQ chimney where you can use your own throw away BBQ. Please bring your own beach towels. Although there is a well stocked postoffice/general store in the village, Crantock is in the Tesco delivery area and the fridge and freezer provide ample room for you to arrange a convenient delivery time to suit yourself and stock up without the need to travel to local supermarkets. There is a fold out daybed available which would suit a child. Please ask at time of booking for further details.

The West Country region
Area well known for spectacular beaches and coastal walks and Crantock itself is well known for its pretty cottages quaint village shops and church dating back some several hundred years. The village also has three pubs one of which is itself several hundred years old.
Newquay itself has many attractions including tennis and badminton courts, zoo, waterworld, sports centre, sealife centre and of course fistral beach, with its numerous surf competitions, and for those more energenic of an evening Newquay is well known for its nightlife and many different choices of restaurants. In addition there are numerous attractions all within a short drive or coach (from Newquay) including the well known Eden Project and theme parks aplenty.

"Dark musty cottage on the main through road in Crantock"
Smelt musty. No wifi. Lack of headroom in upstairs bedrooms.Only positive was the back garden which was great for our dog. Very disappointed.… More

"DISAPPOINTING - DIDN'T MATCH OUR EXPECTATIONS"

I am disappointed that your concerns were raised following departure and not whilst you were staying. The housekeeping and maintenance team are available 24/7 via the guest telephone number should you have had any concerns and this number is shown on your arrival details and within the cottage. Should you have called us a member of the team would have visited you to rectify and issues that you had.
As we do take all guest comments seriously the report was passed immediately to the head of the housekeeping team that we employ. We have replenished kitchen items that seem to have gone missing since the start of season. We have also purchased new garden recliners. I would disagree with the comment regarding the photographs as they were taken by Newquay Holiday Lettings and have not been doctored in anyway.
Wayside is well over a 100 years old and has many repeat visitors that love the quirkiness of the cottage and we are very sorry that the cottage did not meet your satisfaction.
