Holywell Bay, Crantock and Polly Joke beaches.

Both Holywell Bay and Crantock are great for families and surfers alike. They have long sandy beaches with dunes and are both lifeguard patrolled so that you can enjoy both swimming and the excellent surf.

Polly Joke beach has been described as one of the quietest beaches in Cornwall. Being accessible only by foot makes it less busy than other beaches in Summer.

There are National Trust car parks at all three beaches.

Pubs and Eating.

Cornwall is an excellent place to eat and drink with award winning restaurants, such as Rick Stein's and Paul Ainsworth's Number 6 in Padstow and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen in Watergate Bay.

Crantock village has two pubs, the Old Albion Inn and the Cornishman. The Bowgie Inn, in West Pentire, is a walkable distance and has a stunning setting for eating or enjoying a few drinks after a walk on the beautiful headland or the unspoiled beaches. In Cubert is the Smugglers Den, a beautiful 16th century thatched pub which has a reputation for good food and wine.

There are numerous walks around Cubert and Crantock, from stunning coastal walks to woodland walks, At low tide there is a lovely walk across the River Gannel to Pentire Head, Fistral beach and Newquay. Or at high tide there is a summer ferry across the river.

Newquay, Shopping and a Big Supermarket.

There is a large Morrisons supermarket about 10 minutes drive out of Cubert towards Newquay. There is also a Sainsbury's in Newquay itself.

Cubert and Crantock are both close to Newquay, which in the summer is a bustling holiday resort with shops, many clubs and pubs. There is a regular bus service to both Newquay and Truro.
