The West Country / Cornwall region
Cornwall is a peninsula situated at the south-western most tip of Britain, opposite the peninsula of Brittany in France. It forms part of the 'Atlantic Arc' of six Celtic countries - Brittany, Cornwall, Wales, Isle of Man, Eire and Scotland. Its landscape bears a greater resemblance to that of its Celtic neighbours than to the rolling hills of Devon and the rest of England. This is largely due to similarities in the geology of these areas. The climate is mild due to the warming effects of the Gulf Stream - indeed palm trees are relatively common in the gardens of south and west Cornwall and sub-tropical plants can be seen growing quite happily at the Abbey Gardens of the Scillonian island of Tresco. The moderating influence of the sea also means that Cornish winters are rarely severe and hot summer days are often cooled by gentle sea breezes.

From Porthtowan in the west to Harlyn Bay in the north the beaches of this stretch of the North Cornwall Coast are legendary.Get your adrenaline buzz from kite-surfing at Watergate Bay (and eat at Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen", or the friendly real-ale Phoenix). Or ride your wooden boards at Perranporth and have lunch at the WateringHole. Newquay has beaches and bars too! There is a Zoo and an Aquarium and Great Gardens and Houses - not to mention the Eden Project.

Further details indoors: We bought this lovely apartment when it was just a shell because of the wonderful situation. You can see forever up the coast and yet it's only 5 mins* walk from the sea front. We have had great fun furnishing it in a modern seaside style to complement the superb built-in facilities. ll the pictures are originals or limited-edition prints, which we rotate with those we have at home.
The double bedroom has an en-suite shower etc., and the twin beds in the other bedroom can be made into a double if required. There is a put-u-up bed for an extra child/person as needed. In the bathroom and en-suite there are heated towel rails, well-lit mirrors and under-floor heating, with restful decor, pictures, and all comfortable facilities to make your stay a pleasure!
The dining table in the pictures can be extended to take 6 - there is plenty of space- and there are extra chairs and enough crockery etc. for 6 if needed
Everything we could think of you might need we have provided - and again there is plenty of space. The cold drinks feature on the fridge/freezer is nice for the summer.
There is perfect mobile reception and huge patio doors to the balcony, which has its own table and chairs.

Change-over day is usually Saturday ... we could make special arrangements if really necessary, especially out of season. Please e-mail initially if that suits you, and/or ring. Lesley always likes to talk to our quests in person if she can. We have a special service whereby if you order groceries etc. from Tesco we can arrange to meet the delivery and have it packed away in the fridge/freezer and cupboards ready for your arrival.

The owner's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights
NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion. Pro-rata rates for shorter than a week breaks in the winter, subject to a minimum charge. For the Christmas and New Year weeks, those beginning 20th. Dec. & 26th.Dec. we can only offer pro-rata rates in special circumstances due to the demand. We ask for £100 damage deposit, returnable immediately after the holiday.
