Wadebridge offers cycle hire to explore the Camel Trail, an 18 mile route which follows the Camel Estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge before continuing through the beautifully wooded Camel Valley to Bodmin.
Scenic excursions can be enjoyed on the Lappa Valley Railway and Bodmin and Wenford steam railways. Trerice (NT) is a short drive and Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project, the National Maritime Museum and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all less than 25 miles away.
The bungalow is located just ½ mile from Crantock Beach, a wide expanse of golden sand stretching between the East and West Pentire headlands. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards throughout the summer and is ideal for surfing and swimming, with plenty of rock pools and caves to explore. Hire of surf boards and lessons are also available. A short distance around the headland is a delightful little cove known as Polly Joke; a totally unspoilt beach with only cliffs, ocean and sand to enjoy.
Newquay (4 miles) is a popular resort with some of Britain’s finest surfing beaches. Each year fistral beach holds the ripcurl boardmasters competition, drawing thousands of spectators and the best surfers from around the world. The coastal footpath is easily accessible from the property and a 2½ mile walk leads to Holywell and continues beyond to Perranporth. Walk in the other direction and you come to fistral and the many other newquay beaches.
