About the home
Lismore House is our family home but we have converted half of it into 4 lovely apartments each with stunning views. We are the only letting property on the northern side of Crantock valley and as such are bathed in sunshine until the moment it sets, long after the rest of the village has been in shade. Its position grants it stunning views over the village, church, dunes, beach and the coast for miles north and south. The beach is a short walk as is Penpol creek and woods, the Gannal estuary and the village centre. Newquay can be reach on foot at low tide in 15 minutes. The garden has a large pirate ship, 12ft sunken trampoline and very large decked area with granite electric hotplate BBQs, sun loungers, tables and chairs. There is also a gym complete with sauna and outdoor spa. Stables are located beside the property with riding lessons offered on the beach at £10/hr

Lismore House is spacious and tastefully decorated with the original works of renowned local artists. There are comfy leather sofas, TV/DVD and WIFI access. The Kitchen is fully equipped and includes a washing machine. The master bedroom has a king size solid oak bed and ensuit shower room. The second bedroom can have a double down/single up bunk bed, twin beds or twin beds + pull out mattress.
From the kitchen watch rabbits playing and cows grazing no more than 5 meters away.
From the living room look out over the fields, church and dunes to see the sun set behind Goose Rock.

Secure off road parking is provided to the rear of the building. There is plenty of storage area for surf boards, canoes, bikes etc. There is also an outside heated shower to wash off the salt and sand at the end of the day.

Bookings are Sunday to Sunday only during school holidays. Arrival after 2pm and departure before 10am.
A £100 deposit is required for advanced bookings
Short term bookings (no less that 2 nights) are based on the pro rata rate

Cornwall has so much to explore. Two very contrasting coasts, world class gardens, the surfing, the wonderful walks (coastal, woodland and moor). Even in the height of summer there are empty coves and headlands in abundance.
The Newquay / Crantock area
Lismore House overlooks the ancient village of Crantock and its beautiful Norman church, the dunes and beach. The village and church are nestled behind the sand dunes beyond which lies the ultimate family beach. There are caves, tunnels, old carvings, amazing rock pools, a tidal river with oak lined creek, ship wrecks, lobster pools, huge dunes to slide down and the best surf in the county. The Times newspaper named it Britain's best family beach.
The village is famous for its thatched cottages and round garden. There are two pubs in the heart of the village and a third a mile away on the headland with views of the coast.
Newquay is a short walk across the River Gannel at low tide or 10 mins by car. Newquay has some great restaurants, a very picturesque harbour, more stunning beaches, lots of rainy day action (zoo, water park and new multiplex cinema) and a fairly crazy night life.
There are several very good golf courses nearby and every type of fishing possible in the UK
Most of the ocean that can be seen from Lismore House is shortly going to become a marine reserve. With a pair of good binoculars you can spot seals, dolphins, basking sharks and clouds of dive bombing gannets from the property.

Crantock village lies just to the south of Newquay on Cornwall's stunning north coast.
Newquay is 5 miles away by car or a mile on foot at low tide.
There are regular flights to Newquay airport from London Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Norwich.
The airport is situated just 8 miles away. There are regular bus services linking the airport to Crantock. A taxi is approximately £15. There are also three car hire companies based at the airport, Avis, Europcar and Hertz.
