Number 3 has accommodation arranged over 2 floors. It is a light and airy holiday cottage with a New England feel. The property has been finished to an exceptional standard with the use of natural materials, including slate and oak flooring in the kitchen, living and bathroom areas.
Entry is via french doors from the adjacent parking area, into the double height kitchen area. All living is on the ground floor, along with 2 of the 3 ensuite bedrooms. A courtyard garden is to the rear of the cottage.
There is a large oak floored living area which has comfy seating, flat screen TV, DVD & HiFi. The Living Room can be separated from the kitchen/ dining area by closing glass double doors. French doors from the sitting room lead into the sunny courtyard garden with table, chairs, barbeque and bench.
The sleeping accommodation in Number 3 is very flexible, there are three bedrooms in total. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms. Both are en-suite with generous sized shower rooms.

The hand build oak kitchen is fitted with stainless steel appliances and provides all modern conveniences including microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, double oven and extra wide hob. In the kitchen/dining area as well as a stylish dining table and chairs, there is a log burning stove– ideal for those cosy nights in.
A spacious living room complete with plenty of comfy seating leads to the courtyard garden and also allows access to the 3 bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 can either be arranged as a 6' double, or 2 x 3' twin beds. This room is elegantly furnished with an armoire, dressing table and bedside table with lamps. The large walk in shower room has a slate floor and walls with a power shower.
Bedroom 2 has a 4'6” bed and is furnished with a chest of drawers and bedside tables. The en-suite shower room has a spacious shower enclosure and again, the shower room is has a slate floor and wall tiling. Bedroom 2 is a beautifully light room with an arched window on one wall and french doors giving access to one side of the courtyard garden. There is a bench conveniently located just outside the french doors, ideal for your early morning cup of tea. There is no wardrobe in this bedroom, but there a large chest of drawers and a peg rail with hangers.
Stairs go up to a landing where a second seating area can be found. Doors lead to a bathroom and Bedroom 3 has a 6' superking bed, and, can be arranged as 2 x 3' singles. There is a sofa on this landing and a TV which provides an ideal arrangement for somewhere quiet for grandad or the children to watch TV. There is a Velux window here allowing rural views to fields.
Bedroom 3 is in the eaves of the building, but only the very tall may suffer height restrictions. The beds can either be arranged as a 6' double, or 2 x 3' twin beds. This room is furnished with a fitted wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables with lamps. A Velux window here allows rural views to fields
On the opposite side of the landing is a full bathroom comprising a fitted bath with hand held shower attachment, and a spacious separate shower cubicle. You can lie in the bath and enjoy the rural view from the Velux window and relax!

The National Trust own many beaches, gardens and houses in Cornwall.
Crantock is a picturesque village of historical note; on the North coast of Cornwall with one of the best beaches in the area. It has an ancient church, two pubs, tea rooms, an art gallery, gift shop and a village store.
It is only five miles from Newquay, but a world apart. It is popular with families in the summer and people who wish to surf, walk and enjoy all Cornwall has to offer all year round.
Crantock is the site of an altogether much older settlement - Langurroc, which means the 'dwelling of the monks'. The village gets its name from the Celtic Saint Caranog, who is also known as Carantoc. It is suggested that Crantock was founded by St.Carantacus in the 5th century, who was the son of a Welsh chieftain, and established his church. The present church is reputed to be built upon the same site.
Crantock Beach is a great beach for families and surfers alike. It has a wide sandy beach with sand dunes between the beach and the village. At low tide you can walk along the beach to West Pentire.
Polly Joke beach is the next beach around the coast going west. It has been described as one of the best beaches in Cornwall. It has to be walked to, making it less busy than other beaches in Summer.
Pubs and Eating:
Crantock has two pubs; the Cornishman and The Old Albion Inn, which are a short walk from the properties in Crantock Village. The Bowgie Inn, in West Pentire, is a short walk from Cormorant, Guillemot and Kittiwake. In Cubert, 2 miles from Crantock, the Smugglers Den, has a reputation for good food and wine.

There are many walks for dog owners near Crantock, including the South West Coastal Path, which passes by the village and can be reached on foot from all our cottages.
Newquay, shopping and a big supermarket:
There is a large Safeway supermarket about 5 minutes drive out of the village towards Newquay. Crantock is about 5 miles south of Newquay, which in the summer is a bustling holiday resort with shops, many clubs and pubs. There is a regular bus service to Newquay and taxis can be booked.
In Crantock there is a village store that provides many of a holiday maker's essential needs.

We are extremely sorry that these guests found their accommodation lacking in the areas outlined.
The owners of 3 The Hinges have spent a lot of time, effort and money maintaining and presenting The Hinges to a very high standard and were very disappointed that these guests found the property lacking, and as with all feedback will carefully consider whether changes should be made.
However, sometimes things go wrong, as in this case, but we are pleased to note the problems identified with the cleaning were promptly dealt with. Clearly all guests should find their holiday cottage properly cleaned when they arrive.
