The West Country / Cornwall region
Newquay has lots to offer all the family, from beautiful clean beaches to a superb zoo, from an aquarium to a varied night life. 46 Bredon Court is situated just above Fistral Beach - one of the best Cornish surfing beaches. You can book a surfing lesson at the British Surfing Association hut on the beach, and also hire surf boards, wet suits and body boards on the beach, or from many of the surf shops nearby. If surfing is not your thing, simply take a good book and a bottle of sun tan lotion with you and relax.
London is 300 miles while a bit closer to home the Cathedral city of Truro is just 15 miles. Well worth a visit is The Eden Project (16 miles) or take a trip to Land's End (42 miles). For some great fish restaurants then Padstow is just 15 miles.
Newquay, Cornwall / Fistral Beach area

The atmosphere is one of high excitement and fun.
Early August brings the Rip Curl Board Masters Surfing event to Newquay. The build up to the UK’s greatest surf, skate and music festival has begun. The official dates are confirmed to take place from the 5th – 9th August at the iconic Fistral Beach and scenic Watergate Bay in Newquay.

All this while the cliff tops of Watergate Bay host the 2 day music festival with a highly anticipated line up covering 3 stages.
Over the August Bank Holiday, Lusty Glaze Beach is host to the Beach Rugby Festival. Beach Rugby is a fun and friendly tag rugby game played on the beach. Pioneered at Lusty Glaze beach in Cornwall, the game is now played in a nationwide series of events supported by the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
Early September Crantock has been the venue for the annual Big Bale Push. This competition has raised over £24,000 for key charities close to the heart of the local community.

The races are run in teams of four pushing a full-sized round bale of straw weighing approximately 420 lbs and measuring 4’ 6” in diameter over courses of differing length according to the class of race. The main course for the “180 veterans”, and “The Open” is run over a full quarter of a mile through the village, both up and down hill, starting and finishing between the two village pubs - “The Cornishman” and “The Old Albion” . www.crantockbalepush.com
