About the home
It has a fitted, well equipped kitchen, sitting room with open fire and a separate dining room. The kitchen comes with hob, fitted oven, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of equipment for a successful self catering holiday. Downstairs there is a shower room with a generously sized shower tray complete with powerful shower and a separate bathroom with toilet, vanitory sink and bath with a shower over the top. For that extra touch of cosiness, there is an open fire in the sitting room. There is gas central heating to keep you warm on those winter evenings. There is a TV, complete with Freeview and a DVD player. There are small flat screen TVs in each of the double bedrooms.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. Two are double bedrooms (150cm/5' beds) and one single room (90cm/3' bed) there is a a roll-under available here suitable for a small child. This makes Number 4 Winstowe Terrace ideal for two couples sharing. Both bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe and storage space along with bedside tables and lamps. The extra large chest of drawers in each room make ideal changing areas for small babies.
Number 4 Winstowe has its own enclosed rear garden with a fabulous decked area at the bottom, to make the most of the sun in the garden and an ideal space to sit and gaze at the open view down to the Village.

Ten minutes walk away is Crantock's sandy beach which is suitable for families and surfers alike. Five minutes walk away are two pubs, a Londis grocery store, Post Office, art gallery and the church of St Carantock.
The cottage has its own enclosed patio and garden with barbeque and table for six. The garden is laid mainly to shrubs and lawn with a large decked area. There is off-road parking for one car.
Number 4 Winstowe Terrace is in close proximity to all our Crantock Village cottages, making it ideal for booking as part of a larger group.

The Newquay, Cornwall / Crantock area
Crantock is a picturesque village of historical note, on the North coast of Cornwall with one of the best beaches in the area. It has an ancient church, two pubs a tea rooms, an art gallery, gift shop and a village store.
It is only five miles from Newquay, but a world apart. It is popular with families in the summer and people who wish to surf, walk and enjoy all Cornwall has to offer all year round.
Crantock is the site of an altogether much older settlement - Langurroc, which means the 'dwelling of the monks'. The village gets it name from the Celtic Saint Caranog, who is also known as Carantoc. It is suggested that Crantock was founded by St.Carantacus in the 5th century, who was the son of a Welsh chieftain, and established his church. The present church is reputed to be built upon the same site.

Crantock and Polly Joke beaches
Crantock Beach is a great beach for families and surfers alike. It has a wide sandy beach with sand dunes between the beach and the village. At low tide you can walk along the beach to West Pentire.

Polly Joke beach is the next beach around the coast going west. It has been described as one of the best beaches in Cornwall. It has to be walked to, making it less busy than other beaches in Summer.

Pubs and Eating
Crantock has two pubs, the Cornishman and The Old Albion Inn, which are a short walk from the properties in Crantock Village. The Bowgie Inn, in West Pentire, is a short walk from Cormorant, Guillemot and Kittiwake. In Cubert, 2 miles from Crantock, the Smugglers Den, has a reputation for good food and wine.

There are many walks for dog owners near Crantock, including the South West Coastal Path, which passes by the Village and can be reached on foot from all our cottages. Use the map above to see area around Crantock and the local walks that are available
Newquay, Shopping and a Big Supermarket
There is a large Safeway supermarket about 5 minutes drive out of the village towards Newquay. Crantock is about 5 miles south of Newquay, which in the summer is a bustling holiday resort with shops, many clubs and pubs. There is a regular bus service to Newquay and taxis can be booked.
In Crantock there is a village store that provides many of a holiday makers essential needs.
Many of our guests use Tesco Online to order their shopping before they leave.

Take the A30 West, come off at Indian Queens, follow the signs to Newquay. Follow signs to the A3075, take the turning to Crantock.
Flights come to Newquay Airport where hire cars can be collected.

I also wish to say that we were so happy there weren't any restrictions on us bringing our dog and believe it or not our child as well. There were a few cottages I looked at beofre I found yours that would allow us to bring a dog but not a child!! Bizarre! The cottage is beautiful and the views out the back of the property are to die for. We went out of season but I can imagine sitting in the summer house would be a dream. The cottage is a home from home and we didn't want to leave."
