The West Country / Cornwall region
The area is famous for its beaches, sailing, surfing and the coastal footpath. There are the attractions of the Eden project and many other stunning gardens, the Maritime Museum at Falmouth, Falmouth Sailing Week and later in the year its celebrated Oyster Festival, the Tate Gallery and Hepworth Museum in St.Ives. Not to mention the many challenging golf courses around Cornwall.
Activities to build up an appetite for the renowned Stein's Restaurants in Padstow or the many other
good quality cafes and restaurants. Newquay is the ideal base from which to enjoy these attractions, you can,
of course, just sit and enjoy the view.
The Newquay, Cornwall / Pentire area
Newquay offers the lovely Trenance Gardens which has Newquay Zoo, the Bowling Green,Heron Tennis Centre, Newquay Waterworld with its 25mtr. pool and gym for a serious workout and great fun pool for younger enthusiasts, the Woodenwaves skatepark and minigolf, paddle boats on the lake and horse-riding from Trenance Stables and cafes throughout the park to meet most palates.
There is, of course, surfing for which Newquay is justifiably famous, hire gear and tuition is available throughout the town if you haven't tried it yet. Fishermen can take trips from the Harbour to pitch their skills against the great Atlantic and the Sealife Centre is close by for the non-fishers of the family. Newquay's 18 hole links course is minutes away from the apartment and welcomes visiting golfers. And the beaches of the town are great for a real seaside holiday whether with your family or with friends.
