We had a fantastic Christmas here, the cottage is beautiful and had everything we needed for a great holiday. The surroundings are amazing too. We all enjoyed our time at Trewrach Cottage so much that we'll almost certainly be going back some time. Thanks so much for a very special Xmas. |

We stayed at Trewrach Cottage last weekend. The cottage is immaculate set in a fabulous landscape. Close to a private beach and not far from the main beaches in the area (Newport, Poppit Sands, Newgale). We had a wonderful warm welcome and our needs (with 2 dogs) were well catered for. The cottage has been thoughtfully rennovated with some lovely features, like the log burner. Mr Badger also came to visit us one evening! |

This was a perfect base for a wonderful holiday exploring the North Pembrokeshire Coastline. Whether you like staying close by or travelling further a field - it's an ideal base. Lovely clean and well developed home, with a great view out over the woods. happy to sit there watching bird life during the day and bats and badgers in the evening. What a treat. Although Feroza kindly left us a good supply of peanuts for the badgers, we discovered that they loved chips and the contents of our dustbin! The family who own the cottage are lovely and our youngest son enjoyed the company of extra children on site. the games room was a big hit too. A great holiday - but over too quickly.

We had a great week in the cottage, exactly what we were looking for - peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings, nature spotting with the birds and the badgers and a lovely cottage that was very well equipped. Loved the under floor heating and wood burning stove. Would thoroughly recommend to any couple or small family.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage, owners have clearly spent money on enabling visitors to see wildlife in their natural habitat. Especially loved the nightly badger and daily woodpecker visits. Lovely walks and peaceful area - would reccommend to anyone and will definitely return

Truely memorable break

I have just returned from a break at the cottage with my daughter, and grandaughter. Despite the wet and windy weather, we had a fantastic time.
On arrival, Huw, Feroza and Aiden came to greet us and show us around the cottage. The cottage has been renovated to a really high standard and is well equipped. Ellie (2) quickly claimed her bed as the large double in the main bedroom!
After putting Ellie right, we headed off to the kitchen to organise dinner. We had everything we needed and some essentials had been left for us to get started with a hot drink and some welsh cakes, which was a really nice touch.
The badgers graced us with their presence on the first couple of nights which was amazing. We couldnt believe how they came right up to the patio doors. Ellie stayed up watching patiently for them for half on hour on the 2nd night - she never usually sits still for 5 minutes so we are very thankful to the badgers! After they went scuttling off, Ellie then said that she wanted the badgers to put her to bed rather than mummy or nanny which took some explaining, but was worth it!
The walks from the cottage are amazing - we achieved the coastal path with a buggy, and 2 bassets - hair raising, but worth the fun and laughter (sometimes out of fear!!) and accomplishment of getting over style after style after style, the 6 ft fences, and then up the odd slippy slope!
We were only sad to have to leave. We certainly plan to book again soon.

New Year in West Wales

Our party of 4 adults and one child stayed at Trewrach Cottage for 3 days over the New Year weekend 2010/11. The property has been refurbished to an extremely high standard and was in excellent order throughout. If you are looking for peace and quiet but within easy driving distance of the various attractions that Pembrokeshire has to offer then this is the place for you. Huw, the owner, was always on hand and is very friendly and always extremely helpful, especially when delivering our daily bundle of fuel for the wood burner.
All in all we had a wonderful time and will be returning to Trewrach Cottage during the summer months.
We will gladly recommend this to friends and family.
Thanks again Huw.

We visited the cottage in october. Myself, my partner, my dad and my sister and her teenage daughter and husband. It was my sisters 30th while we were there and i booked some beauty treatments with Feroza as her present. She absolutely loved it and said it was a really special present so thankyou Feroza. The cottage is the nicest ive stayed in and has been so lovingly renovated, they have thought of all the little things you may need.
What made it for us was the walk to the beach through the woods, and how beautiful it was when you got there. We didnt see another person down there all weekend which was just brilliant as we had the dog with us. We would definately visit again and recommend it to anyone, it caters for all ages and my dad loved the pool table!!!! Hugh & Feroza are wonderful hosts and really make the effort to make you feel welcome and at ease.
Thank you for a lovely weekend and hope you are well. Baby hasn't arrived yet but i will keep you posted!!!! xxxx

Review Title :- "Welsh wildlife haven"
"We had a superb fortnight's holiday at Trewrach cottage.
The location is perfect... far from the madding crowd, and yet a short drive to some of the most stunning beaches in Wales - indeed the world!
The cottage is very well-equipped and yet simply and tastefully furnished. The bathroom, old bread oven and woodburner stove are particularly attractive and there is also plenty of outdoor space for BBQs etc. The Games Room, Sky TV and DVD player were great for the occasional rainy days (although we were actually very lucky with the weather). We really enjoyed the little walk through the woodland and along the stream to the beautiful little cove. We spent hours there, reading, paddling, skimming stones and introducing our baby daughter to the pleasures of exploring rock pools. If we had been there a little earlier in the year, we undoubtedly would have braved a swim or two.
Best of all of course is the wildlife! It was an amazing experience to see two badgers almost every night - often almost close enough to touch. The foxes, bats and birds were also fun to watch.
Not far from Trewrach are some lovely places to visit. There are lots of great coastal walks - for example you can walk to Dinas Island (where the Old Sailor's pub offers great food and sea views). Newport Sands is also well worth a visit. And the drive down to Barafundle on the South coast is definitely well worth the trip - it was voted one of the best beaches in the world a few years ago, and you will immediately see why! St.David's is also a must (with its cathedral, ruins and surfer-style shops), and nearby Whitesands is great too.
Feroza (a qualified beautician) offers a range of beauty treatments, and having facials and manicures proved an unexpected additional treat. Feroza is extremely good at what she does, as well as being a real pleasure to spend time with. Thanks to her, I went home feeling pampered as well as relaxed from the holiday.
Huge thanks to Huw and Feroza and all the family for making us so incredibly welcome and for a holiday we will never forget. We will DEFINITELY return! Rating 5 out of 5

Trewach Cottage has been beautifully restored, decorated and maintained and was in a perfect location - close enough to Dinas Cross to cycle to the shops (quite hilly for the kids) and far enough off the beaten track to enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The short walk through the woods to the beach and the coastal path was perfect and the owners Huw and Feroza went beyond what could be expected in assisting us with our queries and our broken down car. A perfect balance was found for the whole family - which can be hard for a family with 3 teenage boys - relaxing in the garden, playing in the games room, walking and exploring. Many thanks.

What you will read on the web and in reviews will not prepare you for your stay in this cottage. We had four children aged from 1 to 15, and they all loved the week. The older ones enjoyed the games room with pool, table tennis and table football, Sky TV, and being able to explore the area safely on their own. The little ones loved the stone patio area round the cottage and playing with the owner's children. All of us loved the daily/nightly visits from the Woodpecker, the badger, the fox, the jay and other wildlife.
Other things we loved were:
The cottage itself - beautifully renovated with pride by the owners to a high standard inside and outside, with all a family's needs thought of and catered for.
The welcome from the owners - very warm and friendly, always available through the week if needed and with a charming family!
The local area - a stunning riverside walk through the woods down to the beach which was pretty much empty mostly, and had sand and rockpools, also the spectacular scenery of the coast path and the amazing sunsets.
Local amenities - we arrived late and there was a food market open in Fishguard at 9.30 on Saturday evening, also plenty of other options
The wider area - read up about Pembrokeshire! Similarities with Cornwall but without the tourists.
We had a brilliant and very relaxing week - the cottage was a perfect and comfortable base for a family of 6 and nobody said they were bored once all week! We will definitely return ourselves and recommend it to friends. Thank you Huw and Feroza.

SJ from Bristol:- A really perfect, cosy cottage - our favourite one so far, the perfect setting with really helpful hosts - added bonus of company for children. Games room a great idea, loved the walk to the beach. Rating 5 out of 5
LL from Nottingham aged 8:- I had the best time ever here. I liked my bedroom, the bunk beds. I went into the woods and found all sorts of things. I loved the games room with the table tennis and the pool and last of all the table football. My brother loved the walks that we took. Halloween was good with the pumpkin. Rating 5 out of 5
GI from the Wirral:-"Wow! From the moment you arrive you are in the most pleasant place imaginable. A warm greeting and a delightful property. The cottage is the best we have stayed in, in over 10 years of hiring holiday cottages in Britain. The interior is warm, bright and spacious. Well enough equipped for an enjoyable holiday for all. Loved the under floor heating and the kitchen was great (love the dishwasher)!
Huw and Feroza do so much to provide all you would need to enjoy your stay: games room, sky TV, local information for attractions and walks, badgers, birds and wildlife. Well no, Huw and Feroza did not supply the wildlife you have to be lucky but this is the place to go to have that luck. The property has a small orchard by the kitchen where woodpeckers, foxes and badgers often visited us, a stream is crossed to a private woods. The Pembrokeshire costal path is a 10 minute walk away and all the delights that has. There are some lovely places to eat in Newport only a 5 minute drive away, The Golden Lion and The castle (it has a welsh name I am sorry I cannot spell never mind say).
Thank you Huw and Feroza for a wonderful holiday, we will be back and will recommend this cottage to anyone."Rating 5 out of 5
