The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
North Pembrokeshire - what a place! 186 miles of coastal path is accesible just 100 yards away and there are endless walks in the area. Newport is known as the pearl of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
Newport has a bit of something for everybody - from the small Parrog beach where you can launch a boat to the larger sandy beach at Traeth Mawr where you can bathe or go rock pool dipping or build sand castles or just relax. There is a lovely 18 hole golf course just above the beach. In the town itself there are numerous pubs, restaurants, shops, galleries and craft shops - something for everybody. Carn Ingli is the Mount of Angels and is the backdrop for this picturesque town. The iron bridge spans the river Nevern and is a perfect place for watching wading birds such as herons, curlews, gees, ducks and oystercatchers. There are numerous coves and beaches are scattered along this stretch of coastline with some large family friendly beaches and some isolated and inaccesible beaches where seals have their pups and if you are careful you can watch them.
