The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region

Pembrokeshire contains the UK's only national park designated specifically for its coastal features. In spring the coastal cliffs are a riot of colour with sea pink and squills and the birdlife is abundant from puffins to peregrines. The sea contains one of the few resident populations of dolphins in the UK and porpoise are a common site with Gannets and Razorbills diving for bait fish.

The area has a wealth of ancient history and is the source of the "bluestones" at Stonehenge. There are many small ancient monuments as well as a few of the larger Norman castles to explore.

If outdoor adventure is your thing then you can have a go at just about anything in the summer months. The coast is perfect for coastal exploring by sea kayak with some safer and more challenging stretches of water. Pembrokeshire has some well regarded surf spots and some less well known places that can be very quiet. If you like climbing and swimming you can try coasteering which is a combination of both which is very exciting and requires a wet suit and hardhat!

In the autumn and winter the area becomes very tranquil and walks along the coastal and inland paths can be done in almost complete solitude. The beauty of the windswept landscape is plain to see and the ancient history feels just around the corner

Ty Isaf isa tranquil haven in a mature garden at the end of a lane-70 acres of woodland and hay meadows to explore,a paradise for birdwatchers and lovers of woodland and coastal walks. It is a independant ,ground floor apartment, with it,s own entrance and use of the large garden. From the garden, walk across the bridge to the woodland walk to secluded Aberforrest beach, 15 minutes away. The Pembrokeshire coast path will then take you to Cwmyreglwys in one direction and Newport in the other.

Newport, 2 miles away has,has art galleries,a natural health centre pubs, including the famous Golden Lion,.a sailing club at Parrog beach and a Monday morning food market in the main str, eet. Dinas Cross has a well stocked village shop and a garage, a mile away. The bus service passes the top of the lane almost every hour from where one can explore the whole of Pembs . without using a car. For music lovers we have the Fishguard Festival at the end of July. the St Davids Festival in May, an ongoing programme at Rhos-y-gilwen, Rhoshil, which can only be described as Pembrokeshires answer to Glyndebourne! Theatre Mwldan in Cardigan has all the latest films plus the live transmissions of productions from the National Theatre,Covent Garden, and the New York Met

Fishguard, 5 miles away is the home to the Last Invasion Tapestry, The last invasion being a piece off local history not generally known about! Worth a visit.

"very nice location"

This location is a very good place to stay. We stayed for a week. Tricia an Alec are very friendly hosts and we could always ask them if we needed anything. Everything in the flat is in a very good condition and very clean. There is a lovely garden to sit in.
We enjoyed hiking in the Preseli Mountains National Park very much.

We stayed at Ty Isaf for a week, and could not have been happier. Our Hosts Trisha and Alec were extremely hospitable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. This Cottage exceeded our expectations.Upon our arrival we found a bottle of wine in the fridge and roses in the Vase. Nothing soothes the soul more than friendly faces, beautiful surroundings and total peace. There are many wonderful coastal walks including a Waterfall on the property. Rarely will you need the car, there is so much to see and do, especially if you enjoy walking. MAGIC !!
