The Isle of Wight region
The Isle Of Wight is situated just off the South Coast of England is one of Britain's finest holiday destinations. Originally made popular by Queen Victoria who had her maritime residence at Osbourne House. The Island is famous for sailing in the Solent; for Cowes Week; for the Round the Island Race, for its beautiful coastline including many sandy beaches and The Needles. It enjoys spectacular countryside and the longest hours of sunshine in England.
The area is famous for its fossils and children and adults can scour the beaches and be almost guaranteed to find fossils from the Jurassic age - as long as they can recognise them
The Isle Of Wight is an ideal destination for visitors of all ages and has lots to offer everyone
The Newport, Isle of Wight area
Being centrally located Chillerton is an ideal base for exploring the island.
Walking, hang gliding and riding are within 5 mins walk.
The village has a social club open to visitors, a school and a church and chapel. At the right time of the year children can watch the sheep being born and being sheared and even see the llamas in the adjoining field.

The experience was better than expected. Prior to arrival, we were offered transportation arrangements from ferry and/or exact directions. When we arrived we were able to collect keys right on time. Very clean cottage, very safe neighbourhood. The cottage manager had everything that we needed and made sure we were satisfied, including answering all our questions about the area and being available to us anytime we might have needed him. We felt very comfortable and relaxed there. There are plenty of nice restaurants, shopping, beaches nearby and the views were a bonus! Its a convenient location for any needs and quite nice having a grocery store right there around the corner! We look forward to staying there again. I especially liked the high gloss kitchen with ALL ammenities, the space, sky TV, cleanliness and being close to anything I needed. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating there. This beats any high end hotel in my personal opinion, it has personal touches and felt quite comfortable... Home away from home on a classy level. We highly recommend a stay here. |
