A light, airy, second-floor, one bedroom flat in a modern, gated apartment block. It comprises a very sunny open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, bedroom with super-king size double bed (which can be made into a twin), and large bathroom with bath and shower.

There is also a designated parking space within the courtyard

The shops and the restaurants in the High Street are only 3 minutes walk away, while the famous gallops are a similar distance .in the opposite direction. In the mornings several 'strings' of racehorses walk past the block and can be seen easily from the windows of the apartment.

The East Anglia region

East Anglia is a very varied region of the United Kingdom. The Northern and Eastern part from Cambridge through to Kings Lynn in the East is known as The Fens. This is very flat, fertile land with dark, black soil and deep dykes to maintain good drainage.

Suffolk, on the other hand, to the south is very different. Full of pretty small villages which have lost none of their original charm it is known as 'Constable Country' after the famous 19th century artist John Constable.

Further east is the large county of Norfolk which has only the North Sea as its boundary. This is an area with large arable farms and estates and a large number of some of England's finest stately homes including Houghton Hall, Blickling Hall and Holkham Hall all of which are approximately a one and a half hour drive from Newmarket

Newmarket

Newmarket is famous as being the headquarters of the horse racing industry. There are two racecourses; the Rowley Mile which is used in the spring when the the 2,000 guineas and 1,000 guineas are run and the autumn with two historic handicaps The Cambridgeshire and the Ceasarawitch.

Summer racing takes place on the July Course; the principal race being the July Cup. In recent years it has also become well-known for Friday night evening racing followed by a pop concert featuring well-known groups and solo artists and details of these can be found on the Newmarket nights website.

The horseracing museum in the centre of towns is fascinating, not only for those interested in racing, but in history and architecture as the town has interesting links with royalty (racing being known as the sport of kings), as well as having many superb paintings.

The historic town of Cambridge, Ely and Bury St Edmunds are all approximately 12 miles or 15 kilometres from Newmarket and are easily accessible by a regular bus service. The train station is only 5 minutes walk and from there trains go regularly to Cambridge which has a service every 30 minutes to London Kings Cross with a journey time of under one hour

"Superb weekend ."

Lovely flat in a perfect location for gallops , town centre and racecourse . Made very welcome by the owners , who were able to pass on lots of local knowledge .The flat … More

"Excellent choice over a hotel"

Our stay was very pleasant. It was exactly as pictured on the website. The owner went out of her way to deliver the keys to local family prior to our arrival. The dedicated parking space was very valuable as parking on the street each night would have been quite the challenge. The apartment was spacious for just my husband and I. We loved having a kitchen with laundry and a living room to spread out in. The main street was only 2-3 blocks away and there were plenty of eating options within walking distance. Given that our son-in-law will be stationed there for four years, we anticipate additional visits and will happily book here again.
