Bright, cosy flat iin the spectacular city of Edinburgh, a short bus ride from the centre but like being in the country! The flat has its own small garden and entrance, the upstairs of a converted 1920's house with open views to fields and golf course. There's a great bus service to the city centre, yet the flat lies in Blackford Glen on a wee road leading to a nature reserve. Here you can simetimes see herons and deer and max 15 mins later be soaking up the history and attractions of the ancient city. The building itself isn't a beauty, the street is an old farm road - don't let this put you off!, it's perfectly driveable and there is plenty of free parking. The flat itself is charming, and the location great for getting into and out of the city.

Accommodation: Sitting room: light and bright with 3 windows and a log stove. Beds: main bedroom custom-made bed and mattress 5'6”w king; 2nd bedroom 4'6”w double bed. Cotton bed linen, duvets and pillows. Fully equipped kitchen (incl dishwasher) and small dining table form part of open plan sitting room. Bathroom: bath, with shower over bath. Central heating and instant hot water. Balcony, small private garden (with washing green), shed and fuel supply. Free parking on street. Friendly neighbours.

Public transport is good. The bus stop (4+ buses into city centre, very frequent services) is a 3 minute walk. There is a supermarket and shopping centre 2 min bus ride or 10 min walk, local corner shop 5 min walk. Given that we are on the edge of a green belt, restaurants, cafes etc are a little away but the city centre and all it has is only 10 mins on the bus, longer if rush hour.

Access: 25 mins from Edinburgh airport, 12/15 mins from city centre; 5 mins from city bypass; 5 mins from supermarket /shopping centre. Edinburgh has an excellent bus service, nearest stop is a 3 min walk. The whole of Scotland with its lochs, glens, mountains, islands, pre-historic sites, battlefields, castles, palaces and gardens are within easy reach. Within 1 hour you can reach the Royal and Ancient Golf Course in St Andrews, the City of Glasgow, the historic towns of the Borders, the picturesque fishing villages of the Kingdom of Fife. Within 3 hours ... Royal Deeside and Balmoral; the Speyside Whisky Distilleries; Loch Ness and the ferry ports for Iona Abbey and Ireland. (London 4.5 hrs on train.) Attractions: Edinburgh is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the sea on its northern border and the Pentland Hills to the south. It is renowned for its Castle, Old Town, Holyrood Palace, Royal Mile and Georgian New Town. Within its seven hills, it abounds with parks, golf courses, museums, galleries, theatres, restaurants and sports facilities. It is the Festival City: Science, Jazz and Blues, Book, Children's, Film, Art, the famous Military Tattoo, the International Festival (Dance, Opera, Theatre, Music), the more informal Fringe with thousands of performances, and culminating in the Hogmanay extravaganza on 31 December. Outdoor Pursuits: We have golf courses and riding schools within walking distance of the flat. The Pentland Hills are a short drive away and offer magnificent walking and views. There is sailing on the Firth of Forth, cycle paths traverse the city, lots of tennis courts, swimming pools and other sporting facilities.

"An amazing flat in a perfect location."
