Your electricity is powered by the Isle of Wight sunshine, as we have a good solar installation here for the whole house. We also have a selection of bikes and wetsuits that we are happy for you to borrow.

The Isle of Wight is the ideal choice for a holiday "away from it all", in one of the sunniest spots in Britain. The beaches and countryside are simply beautiful, and The Brew House sits right in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a series of fabulous walking trails, and we are actually on the Bembridge Trail, one half of the famous annual "Walk the Wight". This 26-mile walk attracts over 10,000 walkers and is part of the May "Isle of Wight Walking Festival", the other walking festival being in September. We are also just a few hundred metres away from one of the best cycle paths on the Island.
As well as many, many tourist attractions, all within easy reach, the Island was home for many years to Queen Victoria, and Osborne House is an absolute must, the house and the gardens both being outstanding.
The famous Garlic Farm is just a short walk across the fields from The Brew House, and as well as an excellent farm shop, this also has one of the very best cafés on the Island - a real treat.
Another highlight for many of our guests has been Chessell Pottery Barns, where you can paint your own Bridgewater pottery, as well as many of the Pottery Café's own designs. This is also the home of the official Best Cream Tea on the Island!
The Newchurch area
Knighton is a tiny hamlet, a real rural retreat and the perfect location for walkers and cyclists at any time of the year.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Brew House, we had such a lovely time we can't wait to return. The family who own the Brew House were ever so friendly and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. On arrival we were greeted with a wonderful array of local foods to try including some delicious home made cakes! The cottage is very private but Ali was always on hand if we needed any advice about local attractions and where to find free parking. Ali, David & James were wonderful hosts and we felt very at home in the cottage - in fact our children didn't want to leave! The cottage really does feel like a 'home from home', extremely clean, cosy and very pretty. We stayed with our two young children and the cottage was very child friendly. The kitchen is modern and has everything you could possibly need. We found it very easy to cook and make up packed lunches every day. There is a lovely courtyard attached to the cottage which is private and a real sun trap, it was lovely for out children to be able to play outside. The cottage is in a fantastic location, lots of walks to do and very near to lots of the local attractions and beaches. We easily filled our week with things to do and still feel we didn't manage to see everything, we would love to return to the Brew House, it's such a beautiful cottage owned by a really lovely family who made every effort to make sure our stay was fantastic. Thank you Ali, David & James for making our holiday so special! |

Ali and David were great. There was an array of local treats waiting to welcome us, Including a wonderful homemade lemon cake. The cottage is perfect for a young family and we settled in immediately. There were toys, DVDs, books and a number of lovely touches that really made the cottage a home from home. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the island, everything very accessible. |

We are a family of four and we stayed at the Brewhouse for a week in late October and had a fantastic time. The cottage is nestled in the countryside in a lovely location just outside of Newchurch. It is very welcoming, clean, in excellent condition and very cosy. Everything you could think of was provided in terms of towels, bedding, cleaning products, kitchen utensils etc etc. There was also a welcome pack including a selection of local produce and a home baked Chocolate cake! The children were very impressed with that. Ali welcomed us as we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. There is plenty of info within the cottage including guide books, maps, visitors book, menus etc all providing a wealth of information about what to explore on the island. The cottage is in an ideal location from which to explore the rest of the island with most of the coastal towns within a 20 minute drive, the longest trip was to the Needles which took about 45 mins. There are pedal bikes provided for adults / older children and the islands cycle path network is literally 5 minutes cycling down the road. Something to bear in mind, the cottage is very old and the staircase to the bathroom / bedrooms is quite narrow, very steep and with low headroom. There is plenty to see and do here, there are no negatives!! |
