Castlewellan is situated in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Designed around the 18th century, the town with its wide tree lined streets and elegant squares is widely acclaimed for its striking plan form and the beauty of its natural surroundings. It also contains a variety of buildings of historic and architectural significance. Castlewellan Forest Park and Castlewellan Lake are situated to the northwest of the village. Castlewellan Castle overlooks the lake and the park.


This cosy cottage is located on the grounds of the owners home one mile from the picturesque village of Bryansford in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains just 2.5 miles from Castlewellan town. Castlewellan has a delightful Forest park and castle which over looks Castlewellan lake. Well equipped with free wireless internet access this is a perfect holiday location - enjoy a round of Golf at Royal County Down, a variety of mountain and forest walks, Fishing, Horse Riding and Pony Trekking, not to mention some outstanding beaches in the area - an ideal family holiday!
