Mourne Coast cottage is perfect for a range of activity holidays or for a relaxing rest. We are located between the mountains and the sea right beside the Bloody Bridge entrance to the Mountains and the Mourne Coastal path. Newcastle is just a 5 minute drive - its a popular tourist town with a range of attractions including the famous Royal County Down Golf course and long sandy beaches.
There a numerous walking opportunities in the area including; Murlough beach and dunes, Tollymore and Castlewellan forest parks, the Silent Valley, the Mourne coastal path is just across the road, Newcastle promenade and of course the mountains themselves. Group walks take place throughout the year and I can put you in touch with some excellent local guides. The cottage is also stocked with local guide books and maps. Some of the finest walks start from the Mourne Rambler bus stops and lead back to Mourne Coast cottage (In season this bus runs in a circular route around the mountains and there's a bus stop a few yards from the cottage near to the Bloody Bridge).

"A lovely cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings."
This was a lovely cottage with all the amenities you could need ( though a dishwasher would have been great). Otherwise it was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Appreciated the artwork throughout.
Just across the road from the cottage, there is a wonderful coastal path which we enjoyed walking with our children and dog.
It is only a short drive into Newcastle and there are plenty of places to eat/drink etc.
We thoroughly enjoyed the cosiness of the cottage, the fabulous scenery and the company of Romany the donkey who got his daily carrot!

"Lovely small cottage with sea view on one side and the Mourne Mountains on the other"
We rented this cottage for a long weekend to go hiking in the Mourne Mountains. It is spacious and clean and has all comforts (Power shower, central heating etc.).
The location is perfect for hiking - several walks can be reached even without a car. Closeby Newcastle is not in walking distance but is a nice little town with loads of good restaurants and pubs!
