The Central Southern England region

Situated in West Berkshire, Newbury is a vibrant historic market town dating back to the Norman Conquest. Its an ideal centre for exploring the many delights of Berkshire.

There are of things to explore right on the doorstep!

History, or History in the making! 'Middleton Country, is just a few miles away, while Donnington Castle, the civil war ruin is just up the road.

Enjoy walking - stroll through the park to the Kennet & Avon canal and walk towards Hungerford to experience some beautiful scenery. Visit Combe Jibbit some 5 miles away, for some of the most spectacular views of the Thames Valley. Cycling on the canal is also very popular. For the less energetic, take a trip on a canal barge.

Newbury is famous for its race course. One of the highlights of the season is the Hennessey Gold Cup in November. Visit Lambourn with its famous racing stables

Newbury Spring Festival attracts international visitors and performers.

"Fantastic stay"

We had a wonderful holiday in England. The appartment was great, very comfortable, well appointed and very well located (just 10 min from the city center, 20 min from the railway station on foot and opposite a Waitrose supermarket). There is so much to see and do that we hope to be back next year. The owner, June Maclean is very friendly.
