Reading Room House
Situated at the end of a small lane signposted as a footpath.
The hallway, kitchen, lounge and dining area provide open plan living, contained beneath an impressive vaulted ceiling.
The high-spec kitchen with midi units and Baumatic appliances looks over into the large lounge and dining area on a lower level. There is a dining table and seating for six people and the lounge has a pillar box gas fire, flat screen TV and comfortable sofas, one of which is a double sofa bed.
From the hallway there are two large bedrooms, both of a contemporary design, which can be either twin beds or superking. Both rooms have 32" flat screen TVs, hairdryers and all bed linen and towels are provided.
The first bedroom has an en suite wetroom, 'his and hers' sinks with waterfall taps and a large shower area. The second bedroom has a bathroom adjacent, with a jacuzzi bath and LED mood lighting.
The garden area is entered from the lounge via a 5 metre bi-fold door onto a decked area and private garden. South West facing, the bi-fold doors can be fully opened to create an inside/outside living space. There is also off road parking for two vehicles.
Reading Room House is a 'no expense spared' contemporary home with underfloor heating throughout and solar panels for hot water.
It is a truly luxurious grand design, equipped to the highest of standards.

My friends and I spent four pretty blissful days over the May Bank Holiday weekend and were blown away by every aspect of the stay. The property itself is fantastic, spacious, comfortable, and decorated to an incredibly high spec but it was the little things like the fresh-baked scones and bread on arrival, Diane and Graham's exceptionally helpful hosting, and the 60 second walk down to the river that also help make Reading Room House a brilliant place to stay. Not many people would welcome the sight of five 30 year old lads arriving but from giving us the requisite tour to fixing small internet issues, nothing was too much for our hosts. There was more than enough room for five of us to eat, drink, and lounge about inside, and the large sun deck was a happy addition. If you need a somewhere for a laid-back weekend with friends, this is perfect - an absolutely flawless stay.
Thanks for the great review, it was a pleasure to meet you all.

"Truly five star accommodation"
All previous accolades concur that The Reading Room is truly five star. We initially looked for a ground floor room with a wet room for our bedroom, our friends were equally delighted with their own jacuzzi bathroom. Being connected to cooking the kitchen facilities were excellent so all the gadgets I had brought went back into the car. We loved this place so much that we are returning in four days time with family from Canada and have already booked for next year. Congratulations to Diane and Graham on designing a dream house also for your hospitality e.g. flowers, jams, chutneys, wine, freshly baked bread, homemade cake the first visit and a cream tea four days later.

"Very high standard"
Everything about Reading Room House is of the highest possible quality. Absolutely nothing to find the slightest fault with.

Excellent. Everything was very good indeed, the property has been very well thought through as a holiday let, built very recently and all the fittings and furnishings are very up-to-date. The standard of everything is absolutely top notch, extremely clean tidy and well-organised and very well maintained. Diane and Graham are excellent hosts who are very much of the attitude that they want to do the best for you and this is how it actually works out! It is all very easy and straightforward, everything to hand, car parking for instance dead easy; oh and a lovely part of Wales, with a main road nearby but not too close; It is lovely to lie in bed at night and hear absolutely nothing. It is all very very good indeed!

"A hidden gem"
Reading room house is a beautiful premises tucked away in Newbridge-on-Wye. It has everything the traveller could want, from a warm welcome, to a delicious welcome basket, to facilities which are clean, modern and a level above anything we have seen before. Diane & Graham are wonderful hosts and after the initial welcome even took the time to knock on and check if everything was satisfactory. It is a perfect base to explore to surrounding Welsh countryside or simply do nothing and lounge about on the decking. We will be returning, hopefully many times!

"Fabulous Easter Bank Holiday !"
Just returned from a fabulous Easter 3 night stay at The Reading Room House. Diane & Graham, firstly ...thank you for your wonderful welcoming. The welcome pack of homemade bread, milk, wine, homemade marmalade, Easter Simnel cake & Easter chocs for the babies was a lovely touch. The Reading Room house is extremely modern and beautifully decorated throughout. There is nothing missing as everything you need for your stay has been thought of. The fact that we turned up knowing a highchair & a travel cot was there waiting for us, was amazing! Cerys (our 16mth old) loved the place - so much space for her to run around, especially the outside decking. We'll always tell her that her first ever Easter Egg hunt was at The Reading Room House !! Our idea of a Tesco online shop to be delivered on Good Friday went slightly wrong, so we would definitely do an Asda shop next time as Diane uses them alot and stated that they never have an issue in finding the cottage !!! (Thanks for the tip Diane) Again though, what an amazing weekend in an amazing cottage. We cannot recommend it enough. We will definitely be back. xx

"Wow, what a great place to stay!"
The contemporary built bungalow was a fantastic place to stay and definitely has the wow factor but also extremely homely and welcoming. To say it was home from home is an understatement. The accommodation is not only decorated and furnished to the highest standard but the owners, Diane and Graham have provided those little touches which made our holiday. The “Welcome Pack” was just one example of the hospitality and help that we were given. The open plan aspect of the bungalow with the bi-folding doors, giving spectacular views down to the River Wye was exceptional as was the bedroom accommodation with one double room en suite having a wet room which, again, was a touch of luxury. The second bedroom had access to the main bathroom which did not disappoint. On a cold but lovely evening, we sat on the large decking area which would be the ideal place to return to on a summer night to relax and enjoy the scenery. We were close to the Elan Valley and Brecon Beacons ideal for both walking and cycling. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to all ages and we will certainly be returning without a doubt.
