The Heart of England/Peak District
South Scarle is a small conservation village on the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire border, yet close to the main motorway links.
Newark is approx 5 miles away and is a busy market town . The castle is lovely to wander around and boat trips on the river in summer are a delight.
The beautiful City of Lincoln is a must to visit. The Cathedral and the castle are fascinating as are the cobbled streets, leading down the hill into the main shopping centre. In summer its great to while away an hour or two having lunch outside on the waterfront .
The historic market town of Southwell is also nearby with the beautiful Minster, and National Trust properties such as the Workhouse at Southwell and Belton House are close too.
