Home description
A single-family, craftsman style house with a lovely porch in a quiet neighbourhood. Walk to public transport, restaurants, great bars and grocery shops. Detached garage. Private patio. Plenty of parking. On the ground floor there is a living room with cable TV, kitchen, dining room and a small office room with a sofa bed and desk with internet connections. There is a back entrance with a WC and a small deck off the back with a BBQ. Private patio area The second floor has a master bedroom with queen bed, 2 dressers and walk-in closet, a second bedroom with 2 single beds and walk-in closet, and a bathroom. Laundry room in basement. All rooms are air conditioned in the summer.
This property is ideal as a base for exploring NYC and then coming home to hiking, swimming, tennis, exploring the Jersey shore and traveling to Philadelphia for the day, (1-1/4 hours by car or train). Or come home from the city and hang out at the pub in Maplewood Village, eat at one of the many restaurants in Maplewood or Millburn, or barbeque in your private yard and hang out on the porch.
Boston is 4 hours by car or train and Washington DC is 3 hours. Millburn is the perfect location to get everywhere in the Mid-Atlantic area - especially easy commute to NYC on the Mid-Town Direct train. Quiet, friendly neighbourhood.

The New York region
Winter has been VERY mild in the past several years. Come for a break in the off season - or spend the winter holidays in New York. Springs and autumns are magnificent. Summer can be wonderfully sunny and hot, and the local swimming pool is a great place to cool off after a day in the city. New York City - it has everything! We have a great list of affordable NYC restaurants and tourist information for our tenants.
New York City / Millburn area
The local town is approx. a 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk. Walk 15 min. to the neighbouring village of Maplewood where there is another train station, cinema, and many dining options, 5 minute drive to the town of South Orange with a newly opened Performing Arts Centre and cinema. There is a large, newly renovated outdoor public swimming pool, several beautiful parks, tennis courts, 9 hole golf course, wooded county reservation for hiking, many bars and restaurants, cinema and world class shopping at the Short Hills Mall. Gourmet and health food groceries in Millburn and South Orange. In addition, Millburn is home to the New Jersey State Theater, The Papermill Playhouse. The New Jersey Shakespeare Theater is located 15 minutes by car in Madison, New Jersey. There are many local shops and a wide range of products are available. Toys, games, clothes, gifts, food etc etc. Outlet shopping nearby The best thing about Millburn is its proximity to New York City and the Mid-Town train that gets you to Penn Station in 30 minutes. Path train connection in Hoboken to downtown New York and the Hoboken Ferry are 20 minutes by train. Millburn is a perfect place to stay for the New York City Marathon in November. The New Jersey beaches are 1 hour away. Philadelphia is 1hour 15 minutes. Day trips are doable!
How to get there
Flights are available into JFK and Newark Liberty international. 15 minutes by car or taxi from Newark Liberty International Airport. 1 hour from JFK Airport by car or taxi. Air Link train connections from JFK into Penn Station, then 30 min from Manhattan on the Mid-Town Direct train to Maplewood. We are a 2 minute taxi ride from Maplewood train station or a 15 minute walk. A car is not necessary unless you plan to explore in New Jersey. Plenty of parking available

The community pool, golf and tennis courts charge a $10/day guest fee for non residents which we will split with our tenants. Fees apply only if you choose to use the facilities. There are no other charges. Cleaning fees are included in rent.
