The New York region
Midtown extends between 41st and 53rd Streets from the east side to the west side of Manhattan. The area is populated with some of New York's most iconic landmarks such as the United Nations Headquarters, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and Grand Central Station, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Macy's, the Theater District. It is also a short walk to Rockefeller Center.
Midtown is also home to some of the world's most well known department stores, including Lord & Taylor, Bergdorf Goodman, Macy's and the original Saks Fifth Avenue. After a leisurely stroll of upscale shopping there are several restaurants such as Del Posto, Smith & Wollensky, Falai Restaurant that you can stop at when you get hungry.
New York City
The 4, 5 and 6 green lines run north and south on Lexington Avenue. The 6 train runs local and stops at 59th Street, 51st Street, and Grand Central Station (42nd Street). The 4 and 5 trains run express and stop at 59th Street and Grand Central Station.
The Metro North Rail Road runs out of Grand Central Terminal at 42nd Street and Park Avenue, servicing Connecticut, Port Jervis, and Pascack Valley.
