This 2 bedroom self-catering accommodation enjoys a position within the fashionable Stockbridge area of Edinburgh. Although located within the city centre, Stockbridge is best described as a friendly village within the City. Private secure parking is available, which is a very desirable comodity in such a central location.

The apartment is located in a very quiet area. No traffic passes the apartment as it is situated on a street, which no traffic passes through.

The 2 bedrooms consist of a double room with double bed and a twin room with 2 single beds. If requested the twin room is flexible and the beds, zip and link, can be joined as a king sized bed. Also all beds have new (2012) high quality individual pocket sprung mattresses.

In the open living area there are 2 sofas, TV / DVD, ipod dock, fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 4. Facilities in the kitchen include, washing machine, gas hob, electric cooker, microwave, kettle. There is also a supply of basics such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar and washing up liquid.

A vast array of restaurants, bars, bistros, cafes and shops are on the doorstep. Attractions such as the Royal botanical gardens, water of Leith, internationally renowned art galleries and even a recently restored Victorian swimming bath are all within easy walking distance.

The apartment has a small private terrace to the front, which has a table and chairs. Nice place to read the paper or enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea after a days sight seeing.

The apartment is perfectly situated in a quiet area, and the architecture dates to the early 1800s. This is an ideal base from which to see Edinburgh and surrounds.

"Compact well equipped flat"

We stayed for a long weekend at the flat. Getting keys and arrival was easy, the parking is a good 5 mins walk away though. The flat is not large (there is only access to the double bed on one side) or light filled (its a basement) but has everything you need - they also gave baby cot with linen which is unusual but a nice feature. No bath for wee ones though.

Its a 5 min bus ride up to Princes Street but Stockbridge itself has a fair number of restaurants.

I feel pretty hard done by this review and am very disappointed with this reviewer. Thay appear to be active Tripadvisor users but never manage to get any accommodation that they like!. Please look at their other reviews as they are pretty negative about almost all places that they stay.
For the record - PARKING IS LESS THAN 250 METERS FROM THE APARTMENT.
It is a very bright apartment. Please remember that these people stayed in December, around the shortest day. It never gets properly daylight, therefore it is pretty dark in Scotland around this time of year!!

"Fantastic apartment fantastic location"

Stayed at this fantastic apartment in Stockbridge during September. The location was exceptional as you are right in the city but the street that the apartment was tucked away and very quiet. In fact the road was not a through road so there was not even traffic going past, which made for a sound nights sleep.

The apartment had everything we needed, dvd, freeview tv, wi-fi and kitchen with all the utensils and crockery that you would expect. There were even a few of the basics already which saved us money – coffee, tea, sugar etc. We didn't do much in the way of cooking as there was a great choice of pubs and restaurants just a couple of streets away. Also a convenient metro supermarket which was open until about 10pm each day.

The closest bus stop was just around the corner from the apartment and that bus took us directly to the Royal Mile dropped us right outside Holyrood Palace and the same bus also continued to Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht Britannia is docked.

On foot it took about 15 minutes to walk to the prime shopping area on George Street and it was a beautiful walk through the New Town streets to get there.

"Nice Apartment - quiet area - 30 mins from Princess St"

Nice Apartment - advertisement states 10min leisurely walk from Princess St, but more like 30 minutes leisurely walk - would be pushed to run it in 10mins and it is all uphill. Nice area - quiet but with shops and restaurants close by. Took taxi to Waverley Station during rush hour on way home and journey took 30mins but only cost £7.50 which was very reasonable. Also be aware that this is a basement apartment (not stated in advert) so must go downstairs to gain access.
