The Edinburgh region

A genuine year round destination - the main summer event is the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe, the largest arts event in the world. Edinburgh's winter festival turns Princes Street gardens into a winter wonderland with outdoor ice rink, winter market and funfair. Edinburgh's hogmanay is probably the most famous new year celebration, spread over 4 days with torchlight procession, a massive street party, dog sleigh races and much more.

New Town

The central location of the apartment makes nearly all of Edinburgh's main attractions within easy walking distance. Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Holyrood palace are all about a 15 - 20 minute walk into the old town. Princes Street and its famous gardens are around 10 minutes walk, George street's bars, restaurants and shops are a similar distance. The National Gallery of Scotland and the National Portrait gallery are also near by.
