About this location

The Edinburgh region

Edinburgh has just been voted the favourite tourist city in Britain by readers of The Observer magazine for the tenth year running. A genuine year round destination - the main summer event is the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe, the largest arts event in the world. Edinburgh's winter festival turns Princes Street gardens into a winter wonderland with outdoor ice rink, winter market and funfair. Edinburgh's hogmanay is probably the most famous new year celebration, spread over 4 days with torchlight procession, a massive street party, dog sleigh races and much more.

New Town

The central location of the apartment makes nearly all of Edinburgh's main attractions within easy walking distance. Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Holyrood palace are all about a 15 - 20 minute walk into the old town. Princes Street and its famous gardens are around 10 minutes walk, George street's bars, restaurants and shops are a similar distance. The National Gallery of Scotland and the National Portrait gallery are also near by.

"Great apartment, great facilities, great location!"

My partner and I stayed here between Christmas and New Year with my mum and her partner. My mum is very difficult to please but she couldnt find fault with the apartment! It worked out great value for money (around £30 per person, per night, so much cheaper than a hotel). The check in and check out process is brilliant as the apartment owner also has a reataurant in the same road so we could leave our bags there on the day of arrival and departure, and collect the keys really easily. The road also has a great Thai restaurant, and health food shop for those more unusual food needs. Having a laptop with WIFI in the aprtment made planning and booking our activities so easy, we even ordered a takeaway one night using it. There's a nice gas fire in the lounge which was lovely, and the heating was also really good so you never got cold. The kitchen is as well equipped as your own home.
There's only 2 things some people may not like - the first is the front bedroom (pink one) faces a fairly busy road but we never found the trafffic noise disturbed us.The second is there's only one bathroom (with the toilet in it), so between 4 people we had to be a bit organised with showers etc but didn't find it an issue at all. I couldn't fault this apartment and would really recommend it as a great base for a trip to Edinburgh.
