The Kent region
This part of the Kent coastline coastline stretches from Dungeness (lighthouse, RSPB sanctuary and fishing) to Hythe and Folkestone further north. The sea retreats for about a mile here at low tide making it ideal for swimming and sand yachting. Just inland, The Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway (great for an excursion) follows this same bit of the coast. The hinterland is made up of the large expanses of Romney and Walland Marsh, their flat terrain making them ideal for cycling using the National Cycle Network.
Sea Breeze is just half an hour's drive from Ashford International Station and the Channel Tunnel, if you fancy a day trip to France, and only about 15 minutes from Lydd Airport (day trips to Le Touquet). The nearby ancient Cinque Ports of Rye and Winchelsea and Hastings (Old Town) are well worth a visit as are the historic castles and gardens, which abound in this part of Kent and East Sussex. For keen golfers there are several good courses close by.
