The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region

This is one of the most rural and untouched regions within Wales, with a wealth of natural beauty and wonderful landscapes, in both the countryside and at the coast.
Visitors will be able to find uncrowded beaches and a diverse habitat for marine life around the Cardigan Bay area, with much of this coastline being designated as ‘Heritage Coast'. Here there are little coves and sandy beaches many of which can be explored by boat, which can be hired locally.
Inland the Brecon Beacon National Park extends over 500 square miles and is home to some of Wales's most stunning mountain scenery. Small towns and charming villages are dotted throughout this area, just waiting to be discovered.

New Quay

The Ceredigion region has strong connections with renowned Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas. This especially applies to New Quay, where he lived and worked from 1944-1945. The Dylan Thomas New Quay Trail allows enthusiasts to visit places associated with Thomas and his most famous works. Other leading tourist attractions include the scenic New Quay harbour, large sandy beaches and several excellent seafood restaurants nearby.
The town is also responsible, through the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre, for monitoring the local population of bottlenose dolphins and survey boat trips are popular with visitors. The stunning, unblemished countryside around New Quay is host to the country's largest bee farm. New Quay Honey Farm offers exhibits featuring the life cycle of the honeybee, live bees and a shop selling honey and mead plus a tearoom.
