About this location
The Ceredigion region
West Wales is a beautiful region which boasts lush rural landscapes, some of the largest stretches of golden sand in Wales and the rugged foothills of Brecon Beacons. From the luxury of your cottage, enjoy award-winning beaches, spectacular walking, mountain biking routes, canoeing and much more.
Go dolphin spotting in New Quay, visit exotic animals at Borth Animalarium, bring your taste buds alive at the Chocolate Farm or give in to temptation at the Welsh Gold Centre. West Wales offers all the ingredients for a fun holiday, with activities such as go-carting, skiing, and tobogganing also adding to the mix.
A holiday in West Wales also offers a great insight into the area's rich heritage, Welsh culture and language (spoken by over 50% of the region's residents). From ancient castles to the town where Dylan Thomas "got off the bus and never got on again". From Aberystwyth Arts Centre to watching the Scarlets take on Europe's best rugby teams, to the National Botanic Garden and Ffos Las Racecourse. West Wales will give you great experiences and amazing memories.
Yr Onwydden Holiday Cottage is set on a working farm near Mydroilyn village (shop and pub), in gorgeous West Wales countryside. Mydroilyn is located half way between New Quay (7 miles west, on the coast) and Lampeter (12 miles east) and offers endless activities for families, including a fishing lake which is part and parcel of your holiday, an open air play area for children and a games room.
New Quay is a bustling and picturesque fishing town with excellent walking, fishing, sandy beaches, mouth-watering restaurants and hostelries all nearby. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from it all or a cottage for an activity holiday then this is the place for you. New Quay has a lovely sandy beach and bottle nosed dolphins, porpoise and seals which reside in Cardigan Bay can be frequently seen from the harbour wall.
Cardigan Bay, which is dotted with pretty little resorts and stretches of spectacular Heritage Coastland, is home to bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and seals. The Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron lies 8 miles to the North. This architectural gem is full of interest. There's a Sea Aquarium, the famous Harbourmaster Restaurant and the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate. Travel inland from Aberaeron to the Teifi Valley. A favourite with visitors is Cenarth Falls, a famous beauty spot. From Aberystwyth travel on the narrow-gauge Vale of Rheidol Railway and experience the waterfalls at Devil's Bridge or visit the ruins at Strata Florida Abbey, near Pontrhydfendigaid in the Cambrian Mountains. Central for touring Wales and ideal for pursuits such as angling, sailing, birdwatching, cycling and walking.

Thank you for your positive review, we're really glad that you enjoyed your stay.
It was unfortunate that we were not made aware of the issue you had with the washing machine and dryer. They are actually working perfectly and if we had been informed we could have shown you how to operate them to their full effectiveness.
