A continental breakfast is laid out in your room to have at your leisure.

Situated in the hamlet of North Gorley, near Fordingbridge, Hampshire, Walnut Cottage Bed & Breakfast is a quaint Grade II listed C16th thatched cottage. The cottage lies on a quiet lane with free parking outside.

The B&B room has a double bed with an en-suite shower, toilet and sink and a mix of modern features such as free WI-FI, free-view LED TV, refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities coupled with the olde worlde charm of oak framed brick walls and exposed low oak beamed timbers reputed to have come from the Tudor boat-building industry.

The room has its own entrance through patio doors that open out on to the garden where guests may sit and relax in the patio area on warm summer evenings.

Although fairly rural we have a local pub and a restaurant within walking distance whilst our nearest town, Fordingbridge, lies approximately 2 miles away. Other pubs and restaurants lie within easy reach. Ideally based for cycling, rambling and exploring all the New Forest has to offer. Ideal for quiet romantic weekends or celebrations. Sandy Balls Holiday Park is nearby with swimming pool, cycling and leisure pursuits. Nearby horse riding in Fordingbridge. Riverside playground approximately 5 minutes away. Breamore House and Country Museum 10 minutes away. Salisbury and Bournemouth are a twenty minute drive away.

Check-in is from 5pm to 9pm and check-out is between 8am and 10.30am. There is plenty of parking outside the cottage. Two nights minimum stay weekdays or weekends and three nights minimum stay on bank holiday weekends. We do not take children under 12 years old.

The Central Southern England region

There is something for everyone in The New Forest, whether you're looking to relax, explore or just enjoy. It is a mosaic of ancient and ornamental woodland, open heather-covered heaths, rivers and valley mires, a coastline of mudflats and saltmarshes, and pretty, historic villages. Lowland heath once covered much of southern England but the New Forest National Park is now the largest area that remains.

New Forest

This is a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air and countryside. Lovely country walks locally, in the Avon valley of Godshill and Woodgreen area of the New Forest. If you want to know about the area we can offer a few tips and recommendations and point you in the right direction for walks or pubs. We know the area well and can recommend any number of activities. However, if you just want to take it easy then you are in the right place.

By the time you arrive at Walnut Cottage B&B you will already have absorbed some of the flavour of the New Forest – the ponies, the donkeys, the deer if you are lucky. For walkers and bird watchers this location is heaven but remember to bring walking boots or wellies!

"Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location"

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend of relaxing for her birthday away from the pace of London and we weren't disappointed. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the room is amazing with a fridge, nice ensuite bathroom and WiFi. We really loved the outside area which was perfect for relaxing in the evening, also it's only a 5 minute walk to the local pub! The surroundings were also amazing!

Thanks very much for your very kind review. It is very much appreciated. We are so glad you both enjoyed your break. We look forward to welcoming you to our B&B if you decide to stay with us in the beautiful New Forest again.
