The Central Southern England region

The New Forest National Park is ideal for visitors wishing to relax in its peaceful leafy glades, discover its ancient history or explore further afield.

The Park lies half way along the South Coast with its sandy beaches and wild life reserves between Southampton and Bournemouth, to the North is the ancient city of Salisbury with its magnificent Cathedral and Stonehenge a few miles further.

New Forest

The village of Woodgreen, Near Fordingbridge, which has its own special charm being situated overlooking the River Avon to the West, whilst the New Forest stretches away to the East.

The ancient New Forest landscape, where ponies and cattle are free to roam, is an ideal venue for walking, riding, cycling as well as offering many places of interest for its visitors - Beaulieu (abbey and motor museum), Bucklers Hard maritime museum, Lymington (yachting and trips to the Isle of Wight), Rockbourne Roman Villa, Breamore House, to name but a few.

The larger cities of Salisbury, Southampton and Bournemouth are also within easy driving distance and the small country town of Fordingbridge, 4 miles away, provides a good local shopping centre.

Should you not wish to get back in your car to shop for supplies, Woodgreen is lucky to have a wonderful community shop (& post office), which sells a large range of quality food, drinks and local produce, including fresh bread, homemade cakes, local meat and cheeses as well as newspapers, local crafts and gifts.
