The Central Southern England region

This holiday home is ideally placed for exploring the New Forest and the South Coast of England with a convenient ferry to the Isle of Wight and trains to Southampton and Bournemouth. In addition to the attractions of the New Forest (walking, cycling, pony trekking) there is the wonderful motor museum at Beaulieu and a fantastic childrens theme park at Paultons Park towards Southampton.

New Forest

Lymington is a pretty and historic market town on the estuary of the Lymington river leading into the Solent with ferries running from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Lymington is within the New Forest National Park, the UKs most recent national park and an area of open commonland and forest with ponies and deer roaming freely in the area.

Lymington is well provided with pubs, restaurants and one-off shops with a Saturday market stretching the full length of the high street which is under 1 mile away. Cycling in the New Forest and sailing in the Solent are both available within 2 miles.

"Decent place, but a few problems..."

This isn't a bad place to stay by any means. It's well appointed and works well as a base to explore the New Forest, Isle Of Wight and, at a push, Dorset. But the owners need to address its … More

Dear guest
Thank you for your feedback which is helpful and I am sorry your stay at The Cornerhouse was not entirely satisfactory. The internet coverage there has always been poor and we are very happy we have just been able to upgrade to fibre optic which should improve that enormously. The TV/ DVD player etc should have had instructions but they had obviously been mislaid over the busy summer period. And finally the basement room no longer has a desk and easel as it is needed by larger groups for use as bedroom. It is a large, light and quiet room with an en-suite bathroom. It is nice and cool in the summer. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in an alcove under the stairs and it is up to the guests if and when they wish to run them.
