Situated on the edge of the historic market town of Ringwood, Avon Accommodation can be found above the Old Cottage Restaurant, which is one of the oldest most painted and photographed buildings in Ringwood, dating back many centuries. The path of the river Avon embraces the garden on its way to the sea at Christchurch. The market place and town centre with its many shops, pubs and restaurants are a few minutes walk.
The suites are full of charm and character, sympathetically restored and refurbished offering high quality accommodation. Due to the age and nature of the property there are uneven floors, narrow steep stairs, some very low beams and door heights, so please mind your head! Strictly non smoking.
Complimentary tea/coffee and Welcome Pack are provided. Our guests are offered a 10% discount from the full bill on meals eaten in the restaurant below at lunch or dinner (not available bank holidays or commemorative days, such as Mother's Day).
The garden alongside the river is available for guests to enjoy. There is limited off road parking and free parking on the adjacent streets (daytime time restrictions apply) as well as public car parks within a short walk.
We are pleased to accept bookings for short breaks, weekly holidays or longer stays. We are happy to provide a continental breakfast in your fridge for you when you arrive and then delivered daily on request.

The Central Southern England region
Situated in the South of England, in the county of Hampshire, Ringwood is a smalll market town in the New Forest area. The Forest and immediate surrounding area was given National Park status in March 2005 in recognition of the many qualities that the Forest holds. It is Britain's smallest National Park being approximately 145 square miles in size and once a royal hunting ground for King William I and his noblemen, in the 12th century AD.
The rare blend of open heathlands and ancient woodlands makes the New Forest a unique and very special place, the underlying features of which have changed little over the centuries. There are a wide variety of landscapes, from hills and heaths, forest and downland, rivers and streams, water meadows and woodland... all for you to explore.
Whether you want magnificent views, a country park, breath taking scenery, an abundance of visitor attractions, bustling or quiet market towns, you'll find plenty to choose from in Hampshire making it an ideal holiday destination for families and experienced travellers alike.
Ringwood sits between two forests: Ringwood forest with its wealth of pine trees, cycle paths including Moors Valley Country Park and Children s Play Trail, and the New Forest National Park which offers thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodlands where ponies, cattle and occasionally pigs roam free. You may also see wild deer, foxes, badger, rabbits and unexpected birds such as rare birds of prey. Both forests are fantastic for exploring whether on foot, bike or horse.
A comprehensive range of shops both independently owned and national chains such as Phase Eight, Jaeger, Fat Face, Clarkes, W.H. Smith etc.
A wealth of cafeterias and restaurants including Italian and Indian; mainly independents but with a couple of nationals such as Nero Coffee and Prezzo's.
Six pubs within a few minutes walk
Three supermarkets: Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Iceland
Coarse fishing right outside the door; day tickets can be purchased from the tackle shops opposite.
Mountain bike off road trails in both forests and BMX obstacle course at Moors Valley
Spinnaker Sailing Club and other water sports such as water skiing within a few minutes' drive
Riding schools nearby offering hacks across the New Forest for both the beginner and the more experienced rider.
Twelve miles from Bournemouth and its award winning beaches.
Fifteen miles from Salisbury where you will find Stonehenge and the tallest Cathedral Spire in England.
Half a dozen golf courses within a 10/15 minute drive.
Two theme parks within 15 minutes drive: Paulton's Park and Adventure Wonderland
Fantastic area for walking cycling horse riding & water sports.
Bournemouth Beach 15 minutes, Salisbury 25 minutes, Poole Harbour (2nd largest natural harbour in the world) 30 minutes
1/2 doz golf courses within 15 minute drive.
