About the home

The second floor property is located in a beautiful period villa which is characterized by its pale yellow hue, its charming varnished shutters, its great stone buttresses and its pretty sunny paths which meander through the grounds, under the shade of great trees and leading to a shared swimming pool.

Internally the spacious property retains many lovely features including original warm stone flooring, whitewashed walls and well-proportioned lake and garden view rooms.

The two fabulous Juliette balconies provide spectacular lake views from both the dining area and comfortable sitting room and the wonderful open fireplace provides guests with an additional cosy and romantic ambience during the evenings!

A separate kitchen provides all the desired appliances for a self-catering holiday and local restaurants in the locality as well as fine dining in nearby Como city will ensure your dining experiences can be as varied and interesting as you wish.

The property provides a spacious and sunny master bedroom with a comfortable double bed, occasional bedroom furniture, charming original flooring and a pretty view of the villa's gardens. The bathroom facilities provide a modern shower, WC, bidet and wash basin.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

The Nesso area

Nesso is charming ancient village situated along the shore between Bellagio and Como and comprises of pretty pastel townhouses and villas which are scattered through layers of time and history on the various terraces which lead picturesquely to the beautiful lake shore with ferry pontoon.

The village features a selection of local amenities including a hotel, local pub, ancient church and shops and is ideally located for those wishing to explore Lake Como; being just a 35 minutes drive away from the cosmopolitan city of Como.

The Simplon Pass in Switzerland is a must for nature lovers, with its spectacular mountain scenery, and is easily reachable by car being located between Yvoire and Nesso.

Como provides a wealth of attractions with its fine Duomo, its shopping boulevards featuring designer clothes shops and local food markets, its fine delicatessen shops and cafe-lined piazzas and lake shore promenade. Visitors can enjoy the Volta Museum, Aero Club, the artistic and musical delights of Villa Olmo with its splendid gardens and also the Funicular tram to Brunate. Train services run regularly to Milan and its airports and a fast ferry service runs to the northern Lake Como resort towns. A modern motorway from Como also leads to Switzerland.

Making a Booking:

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
