The Black Sea Coast region

Bulgaria offers endless possibilities to those who wish to explore the land and enjoy the proverbial Bulgarian hospitality. What is most irresistible is the beautiful coastline of almost 400 kilometres. The summer, thanks to the airflows from the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, is less hot than in neighbouring Turkey or Greece, with an average air and water temperature of 27ºC and 25ºC respectively.

Modern civilisation has added comfort and luxury to the riches of nature, to create true magic in holiday villages like Sunny Beach, Ravda, Nessebar, Elenite, and Sozopol. Nowadays, in the local restaurants the foreign tourists are enchanted by the unique artistic atmosphere of the Strandzha fire-dances.

The beach resort of Ravda lies approximately 25kms north of the Southern coastal town of Bourgas.The resort lies between the resort towns of Pomorie and Nessebar, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also 5km from the popular Sunny Beach (Slanchev Briag) resort. Ravda is 16km from Bourgas Airport .

Ravda is very popular with Bulgarians and Russians although English and German are widely understood in Restaurants, Bars and Shops. The main street has numerous restaurants, shops selling beach gear, clothing shops, ice-cream parlors and mini-markets. The best restaurants often have the biggest crowds and local entertainment but friendly staff will often find you a seat.

Summer 08 : A three course meal for four with drinks cost approximately €20/€25 , with a pint of beer €1.00 and a rum and cola €1.20 in Ravda

Taxis regularly patrol the major resorts and there are always a few outside the Emerald Resort. Charges are set, with a trip to Nessebar or Sunny Beach costing approximately 25 Leva (8 pounds).

Buses are also available and can be easily caught from the centre of Ravda (5 minutes walk). Tickets are cheap (a few Leva) and can be bought on the bus or at the main travel centre just next to the bus stop.

Nessebar / Ravda area

Ravda is a sea resort with private hotels and lodgings on the south sea coast 3 km from Nessebar and 5km from "Sunny Beach".

Emerald Resort is one of the largest development with the apartments and facilities being built on an area totalling 60,000 sq m. An additional area of 15,000 sq m has been acquired to provide a relaxed area of landscaped gardens and natural parkland.

Sunny Beach definitely lives up to its motto of "Where families come first' and only the most jaded of kids could get bored here, with the likes of kiddie trains, well-equipped playgrounds, clubs with foreign language-speaking nannies, organized festivals, camp-fire sessions, kids' discos, donkey safaris, sand-castle building competitions... Whew!

It's not just kids that get all the fun things to do. Sports include windsurfing, sailing, para sailing, speed boating, scooter-driven parachuting, pedalboat-ing, water skiing, horseback riding, archery, mini-golf, roller and in-line skating, bowling, tennis, bicycling, wall climbing (for the truly bored), and beach volleyball.

Trips to historic and scenic spots throughout Bulgaria and internationally (for example, overnight boat trips to Istanbul) can be arranged through local travel services.

How to get there

Fly to Bourgas Airport and take a taxi to Ravda (approximately 20 mins),or local bus £1.50/€1.70 This will cost approximately £5-8.- €10, take a flight to Varna airport and travel by taxi (approximately 1.5 hours).

This will cost approximately £40.-€50. Travel by bus to/from Varna for approximately £2.50 /€3.00 per person.

This luxury studio is cleaned before and after departure. However if you require further, cleaning, linen and towel change this can be facilitated by the housekeeping team for a nominal extra charge payable locally.

Please do not bring towels to pool or breach, towels are available at pool area

Refundable security deposit of €100 is required and will be returned after the studio is inspected and keys returned to reception.

50 % deposit required on booking plus security deposit , remaining balance payable eight weeks prior to arrival date.

Smoking on balcony area only - alarms very sensitive.
