The Black Sea Coast region
The Black Sea coast is typified by warm, clear seas and sandy beaches with a number of resorts nestling in coves and bays along the coastline, all with their own distinctive character and charm. They range from the lively bars and clubs of Sunny Beach and north to St Vlas perched on the hillside; down to the picturesque Nessebar, and then further south beyond Ravda to the busy port of Bourgas.
Nessebar / Ravda area
Nessebar, just 3km away, was founded at the end of the second millenium BC and is the pride of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. An ancient Thracian settlement, it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and with it's arrary of Byzantine churches and revived traditional wooden houses, it's easy to see why. Take a stroll through Nessebar's cobblestone streets - bustling by day; romantic by night - and soak up the atmosphere.
In the opposite direction from Nessebar, is the lively and vibrant Ravda. A traditional Black Sea coast resort, Ravda boasts a mix of market stalls, restaurants, watersports and a mini fairgound to keep all the family amused.
If that's not sufficient, the largest water park in Southern Bulgaria is just around the corner with rides, slides and pools designed for a whole day of fun and entertainment.
